Manada Golf Club
Played On 03/15/2020Good Local Course
Whether you’re looking to tune up your game, or looking to just get 9-18 holes in, you can’t go wrong with playing Manada.
The staff. They are very friendly and are constantly working to help keep pace of play going, and ensure people are able to tee off at their requested tee time. The bar service is great, and provides a good place to reminisce of good times had on the course.
The course. You won’t find much trouble on this course as it is fairly open. If you’re a long hitter off the tee, I’d suggest possibly hitting a fairway wood or even a long iron off some of the Par 4 tees. Par 5s do for most players tend to play as a true 3-shot Par 5. The greens can be fast, and some greens have some challenging undulation to them. Which can be good or bad for your short game, depending on hole locations. Subtle breaks on the green van leaving you scratching your head as well at times.
Pace. This course can get VERY busy during peak time. I highly recommend a tee time to ensure you can get out to play. Although, back to the stellar staff.. if you arrive and intend to “walk-on” and play.. they will typically do their best to get you out.
Overall: A great course to refine your game on, a great course to take beginners to, and a great course to have cheap fun at.
Eagle Eye Golf Club
Played On 05/25/2014What a Gem of a course
Eagle Eye has to be one of the nicest courses I've ever had the chance to play on. Everything from clubhouse, to practice facilities, and from tee-to-greens is in excellent condition. Very well managed pace of play, never had any issues with waiting around to hit or getting stuck behind slower groups. This course has a way of making you feel like a pro, without venturing far from home. Each time a tee-shot hits a fairway, or that approach sticks on the green, is a reason to smile when playing here. This course offers a lot of rewards for smart, accurate play, and a lot of "not over there!" when straying from the fairways. The infamous island green will leave you in awe and is the most rewarding hole to hit a solid shot to the green on. Whether not having your best day, or having the greatest round of the year, there is no better place to do it, than Eagle Eye. I played early in the season (April) and the course was well ahead of other courses in the area as far as condition. I couldn't resist going back so booked a tee time to return in May and the staff/grounds-keepers actually had managed to get the links in better condition. Greens are fast and have some hidden breaks, fairways are cut tight, and rough is in a class of its own here. Many bunkers here with a good amount of water hazards. I recommend this to anyone who wants a great visual from each tee block, and a course that will spark a lot of conversation weeks after the round has been in the books.
