Peoria Pines Golf Club
Played On 03/18/2021Good Course to Tune Up
Very average, slightly longer than a traditional executive course. Excellent for tuning up your golf game upon arrival in the PHX area. Using variable tees will bring more iron shots into play.. Tee boxes and fairways in good winter condition. Greens very slow and bumpy. Good pace of play, finishing well inside 4 hours. Standard bar and restaurant with good pricing. Friendly staff both in the pro shop and the no. 1 tee box.
Indian Boundary Golf Course
Played On 07/29/2017Good Course and Close to ORD
Very nice municipal course. Pace on the front 9 on a Saturday morning was a slow 2:48, but picked up on the back at 2:10, for a five hour round. Very playable. Generous fairways off the tee. Mostly open approaches to the greens. Lots of dog legs but the fairways are tree lined for the most part and well defined. Tees are in decent shape. Fairways cut to a decent length. Greens were slow and a bit bumpy. The rough, while not too tall, will snag your club head. Good bargain at $50.00 for 18, including a cart. very walkable. A few holes have a bit of distance between green to next tee, but not too many, and not overly far.15 minute drive to ORD and easy to find.
Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club
Played On 07/16/2016Well Conditioned Course, Great Value
Nice layout and functional clubhouse with pro shop, grill, locker rooms, and banquet facilities. Large practice facilities with mats and natural grass. Well groomed greens of medium speed. Tightly cut fairways. Moderate rough. Sand traps are the week spot ranging from hard clay-like bunkers to rather sticky brown sand. Yardage from 6000-6600 yards. Good pace of play-wrapped up in 4 hrs. 20 mins. on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Great rate-$49.00 directly with the course.
Emerald Greens Golf Club - Silver Course
Played On 09/27/2015Good Value, Basic Golf Course
36 hole golf course located about 20 minutes south of downtown St. Paul. Easy access. Clubhouse facilities include an extremely small pro shop/check in area. Full service bar with grill food available. Course was in good shape. Greens had been punched recently (as to be expected here in Minnesota in September) and were very uneven . At the mercy of the "bumps" all day long. Rough was a bit wiry and challenging. Fairways, for the most part, were in decent shape.
Majestic Oaks Golf Club - Signature Golf Course
Played On 7/7/2013Still a Twin Cities Top Notch Course
I had not played Majestic Oaks for a number of years. It is still one of the better layouts in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. Not to far from the downtowns and easy access off of Hwy. 65. Tees were a bit "bushy" and the greens were standard speed. Pace of play was excellent, and we were done in about 3 1/2 hours. Tee boxes set up for all levels going back as far as 7000 + yards. Tree lined fairways and a lot of trouble if you are straying off the tee. Fairways were consistent and the greens held well on approach shots. The staff was friendly and the "cart girl" checked up on us about every third-fourth hole. This was a good thing because it was an extremely hot and sultry morning. Highly recommended.
