Wolf Creek Golf Course
Played On 09/03/2019Over Priced and OVERRATED
The fact that this course is routinely priced 50-75% more than other courses in the area and never in premium shape should cause locals pause.
Lakemont at Stone Mountain Golf Course
Played On 02/14/2015Pace Of Play For Winter Golf Was Terrible
It was a raw day and unfortunately we were behind a group that was playing very slowly and not letting any groups play through. The Pro Shop immediately responded to our report which was awesome customer service!. The staff is very friendly, but BEWARE: The city of Stone Mountain sets up speed traps just before entering the Stone Mountain Park and the rates to enter the park have gone up from $10 to $15.
When I say speed TRAPS. They were popping people coming down a steep slope (which used to be 35mph now it's suddenly 25mph.
Cobblestone Golf Course
Played On 01/18/2015Great L (ayout and Excellent Value
I hadn't played Cobblestone for a few years, but I always loved the routing and was excited to play on the Championship Bermuda greens. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they had over-seeded with (rye) grass as well this winter which gives these southern courses a very lovely green fairway/blonde rough contrast which I thinks is exceptional!
One of my buddies who has recently moved down to this area was thoroughly impressed and thanked me several times for choosing this track.
We will be back!
Cotton Fields Golf Club, The
Played On 06/08/2014Great Course.....5 years ago
Evidently this course is about to go under. The bunkers were in very poor shape and I could see that they aren't applying any type of fertilizers because weeds are becoming prevalent all around the greens and fairways. This was once a very great course. There was no water in any water tanks and that's a NO NO in June in Ga.
Cherokee Run Golf Club
Played On 12/27/2013Challenging Track From The Tips
Since the county took over this course it has really come back to be a very nice lay out. You have to really drive it well to score and the greens by summer time will be lightning!
You have a lot of uneven lies and you better score on the front 9 and just try to hang on on the back side.
If you don't hit the fairway it is generally a stroke penalty, but the fairways are quite generous.
Mystery Valley Golf Club
Played On 8/19/2013Even After 6 Days of Rain, This Course Is Still Excellent
This is a very well maintained course and always has very subtle challenges. No tricks or gimmicky holes. A lot of wholes look benign and easy, but you experience plenty of uneven lies which leaves you fighting for par instead of that birdie you were counting on. This has been a very wet summer and even after 6 consecutive days of rain, we could still play the ball "down". Beautiful to look at, and challenging to play.
Eagle's Brooke Golf and Country Club
Played On 7/28/2013From The Back Tees, Bring Your A Game
This is a great test of golf from either the Gold or Black tees. You only see civilization on a few holes which makes for a tranquil outing. My only advice would be for the owners to mark the course a little better to speed up play. NO hazard signs or paint anywhere on the course.
5 sets of tees make this course a great deal for any level of golf...make sure you bring some extra golf balls, you will lose some!
Durham Lakes Country Club
Played On 5/15/2013Tough From The Tips
The course played hard, dry and fast. The lay out is very challenging and you really should get a yardage book if you have never played it before. Staff is polite and friendly and it was a great mid week value!
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
Played On 2/24/2013I Won't Go Back To This Unprofessional Club
Management routinely are unprofessional and have no qualms about "lie first, deal with the consequences later" strategy. This course over books and squeezes golfers on the course in front of scheduled tee times which causes confusion and frustration to customers on the course. It has happened to my groups the last 2 visits. We won't go back.
