Greatwood Golf Club
Played On 02/27/2024New carts
Applaud the efforts to upgrade with new GPS equipped carts but ours and the guy in front of us were malfunctioning, hopefully they can fix that. Lot's of maintenance around the course with cart path only holes made for a slower pace, looking forward to the end result of the work
La Quinta at Quail Valley Golf Course

course was in good shape for winter conditions, fairly fast greens, bumpy fairways. crowded but got 18 in w/ 2pm start. parking is a hassle but there is lots of it, just not near the pro shop. very friendly starter, wish players would listen to him and repair divots!
Pine Forest Golf Club
Played On 8/18/2013good deal for a great course
price was right, course was great except for being having to deal with the limited access to the fairways. I do not remember them limiting the carts so much, maybe because of rain? ninety degree is one thing but they had a lot of the fairway access roped off, made for a lot of walking.

Having read other reviews for this course, I thought I would give it a try. Not a far drive from my house in Katy and a nice rural setting seemed appealing, though you get what you pay for on this course. There are some nice holes on this course but they would be nicer if somone took better care of it, greens were ok but fairways very rough. The biggest problem I had is that there are no cart paths on 60-80% of the course and it is sometimes difficult to follow. That said, we were scolded for not driving on a 50 ft or so stretch of cart path by a golfer in the group ahead of us, turns out it was a course marshall in the group who thought it a good idea to yell across the course that we should know better, even though the were no signs or markings indicating where to drive, a simple comment would have been fine but we did not need the rude, and very LOUD dressing down we got, we were not even close to the green! Overall, I would only recommend this course to someone that it is convenient for at a budget price.
Thank you playing Quail Valley. Next time you play, we have a drop off area you can drive up to adjacent to the golf shop by the cart staging area.
