No notification that the course was being aerated. Was very difficult to play with the course conditions. So disappointed.

Enjoyed playing here. Felt like for my skill level it was perfect. Got to use all the clubs although I only brought a few in a sunday bag.

My wife and I had a blast. And although I lost quite a few golf balls but enjoyed just the same. Very long course, for a couple of inexperienced hackers. Will definitely go back.

play this course in the afternoon, big mistake. i guess the residence in the surrounding area use the course as there own after a certain time. after 5 we encountered 4 holes with ppl on it. one a group of kids using it as a play area. one guy decided it was time work on his short game. another hole 3 guys had camped out on the green to enjoy a beer or two and practice putting and last a gentle was training his beautiful german shepherd how to catch a frisbee. So at that point we gave up and headed back to the clubhouse.

I play this course with my wife. We are both relatively new to the game because of the length of the course she was able to work out her new driver on some of the longer Par 3 holes. we love the course so much we went back two Days Later and play nine holes. they do have limited number of golf cart so you may want to get there early. but for the price you can't beat it

Glad to have some carts back. Greens starting look better but if you are slightly off the fairway you may have trouble finding you ball in the higher grass and thatch. But for the price and a hacker like me....who cares.

Fairways are pretty good. Rough is just that. But unfortunately for a hacker like me thats where i spend most of my time. But always enjoy playing here

I booked this through golfnow. The course was very long and challenging. Lots of slopes and dog legs throughout the course.

I always enjoy this course. Price is great. Decent fairways and greens. Plus you really get to use every club in the bag. Nice Mixture of par 3s, 4s, and 5s.

I enjoyed my experience at southland. I have been playing golf constantly for a year. (avg. 2 x month). I usually will troll the cheaper course b/c when I first started I would lose a lot of balls. I have gotten better. This course allow me to use all of my clubs in the bag. It consist of mostly par 4 with a few par 3s and 5s added. Although the course is long most of the layouts are relatively straight yet not necessarily narrow. To me this was a step up from some of the other cheap courses I have played in Dekalb Co. I went during the day time 9am so pace of play was not an issue. I completed the course in 3.5 hrs. Overall I definitely would go back while taking advantage of a hot deal.

As a beginner, I value course within my budget. Until I really hitting the ball straight, I need a few courses that allow me the chance to play but not feel like I am in the middle of the pga tour. A.T. Holmes gives me that.

price matched the course. But definitely ok to get practice game in.

Played this course with my wife. We are still learning the game but gave us an opportunity to get out and actually hit some balls on a actual course instead of driving range mats. Course was not that crowded. Mgmt told us the course had not been maintained by previous owner. We were fine with that. Happy we didn't have to worry about the weekend and vacation pros breathing down our neck b/c we were taking too long. You have to start somewhere. Great place for beginners.
