Great course for vacation

We played this course while on vacation in Nashville. It was a good course to play the first time because of the style and "open" layout. Only #1 and #13 had "blind" shots but if you just hit it to the landing area like you should it's not an issue. I'm not sure why the pace of play was so slow. Granted, they told us there was a 25 minute rain delay to start the day, but all the tee times were pushed back accordingly. Over 6 hours and on most holes there were between 1-3 groups waiting on the tee box. Spacing the tee times a little more might help but I'm not the expert on that. Otherwise, great conditions, great course, and a great round of golf!

A Total Joy to Putt These Greens

The course was in pretty good shape. The greens were flat out immaculate. First time playing this course as I wasn't familiar with it until I took a chance and booked it. Very surprised and will definitely play here more.

Worth the short drive from Indianapolis

The course is beautiful with some elevation change on a few of the holes. The course is a fair challenge with a good mix of holes and styles. Some holes wooded and others more of an open links style. The greens are some of the best around. Well worth the drive from Indianapolis if you've never played it before. I will be playing it more often as it's easily a top 10 in the area.

I recommend with caution HARDEST COURSE EVER ;)

Hardest course ever. This course will let you know the weaknesses in your game (or maybe your whole game is weak). It's insane but fun just for the fact it's out of this world challenging. The greens are immaculate and roll perfect. They have the best carts and GPS I've ever seen at a course. It's actually a touch screen so that you can point to spots on the hole and get instant yardages.

Some very cool and challenging holes along the river from the Golds

The greens were in great shape but the rest of the course is still recovering from the flood a few years ago. This course would be outstanding if it had bent grass fairways. A challenging layout with some holes that force you to hit some real golf shots and some other "gimme" holes to keep your scorecard in check. I will play here again.

Good links style course with a nice layout

The course was in decent shape but nothing spectacular. I liked the layout and a lot of the holes. If the fairways were in better condition it might be worthy of 5 stars but not until the fairways are filled in. I would play here again.

Always enjoyable at a good price

The course is in pretty good shape. The bunkers could use some work (but just avoiding them would be the best). A variety of holes that allows you to hit a range of clubs.

Good challenge on the west side

Nice course on the west side with plenty of scenery and wild life. The fairways were in average condition at best but the greens were in good shape. I would play here again and would like to try the Sycamore course as well.

5 Stars across the board. I agree with it being a top course in the state.

There's not really much to say because words don't do justice. 5 stars in every category there is. A real golf challenge that forces you to hit all the shots. I wish I could play here every day.

Must execute various shots especially off some of the tees

Of the several courses we played in Hilton Head this was my favorite. There were many demanding shots and attempts at fades and draws were required (especially off the #10 tee). The course was well designed and fun to play.

Played in a monsoon and in the sun. It was great both times.

We were fortunate enough to play this course twice. The first time we were stalled by a downpour which made the course play much longer. The greens were still consistent and smooth. The second time the course played a little faster as it was picture perfect weather. Lots of sand and you must keep it in the fairway to score well.

Player friendly course

I gave the conditions a "maintained" only because it was so wet from all the rain I couldn't fairly give it a pristine without playing it when they had a chance to mow again. Most of the course was very well maintained given all the rain they had this weekend. There were a couple greens that had some very bad spots but for the most part the course was great and well worth the play. Like most courses in the area, you must keep it in the fairway.

Not well maintained. A variety of holes and lengths.

We played an early round and waited at least 5 minutes on every tee and at least a few minutes on every approach shot. No pace of play enforced. It was cart path only. For what reason? I'm not sure because it was dry. The course is in poor shape and was not mowed....and it was the 4th of July! Won't play here again.

Short course with some easy holes for a stress free round

Good chance to work on the short game at this course. Greens are a little slow but overall it makes for a relaxing round because you have a chance to score and make some birds. Be careful and keep an eye out for those playing (or hacking) around you.

All the hype is valid. FANTASTIC GOLF EXPERIENCE!!

Believe the hype, the rankings, the rumors. This place is top notch! I don't know what to say because it can't be put into words. If you're from Ohio or nearby, it is a must play! Immaculate shape with extreme scenery! The staff treats you like a tour pro. The course is tour-quality.

Beautiful course with constantly changing elevation

This course is one of the best offering constant elevation changes (high to low...low to high and everything in between). The fairways and greens were in fantastic shape. The greens were fast and true. From the second we arrived until the second we left I felt that the staff appreciated us coming out to play. Certainly, I can't say that about every course. It's nice to play as an appreciated customer. I would definitely play this course again and recommend it to anyone who is in the area.

A fair test of golf with an open layout and a lot of scenic marshland areas

I booked this tee time only because the course that I wanted to play didn't have any times left. It was an enjoyable round as I played solo. The front nine in an hour and ten minutes and the back nine in an hour and a half (caught up to a foursome and a twosome that were ahead of me#. I didn't notice anyone ahead of me until 16. Although it was built through neighborhoods, it was quiet and peaceful and I felt immerged in nature. This is my first time golfing in Minnesota and I understand the winters last a little longer....which showed in the turf conditions. Overall, it was what I expected though. The course had an open layout amongst the marshlands. The trouble areas are easy to avoid but if you don't, you will suffer severely. I would only play this course again if I could find a much better deal as I thought that $40 was overpriced compared to many other courses. I did find the sand a few times #and while I was waiting on 16 a few times on purpose). If you have the misfortune of finding the beach, they have the BEST sand traps I've ever played!

This course condition is mediocre and detiorating

At the start of last year, this was a pretty decent course for the money. By the summer time the drought was starting to take it's toll. By the end of the year, it was a disaster as they really struggle with maintenance. The things I see, I can't use drought as an excuse. If you want to play this, you should consider playing it soon as the condition is likely to get worse over the coming months. Overall, it is a good test of all your shots. Good mix of average and long holes with some risk reward opportunities. The greens need some of the big mounds taken out so that they can keep the grass alive (if they water them it just runs off the mounds causing complete burnout). Hole #7 could be so much better. Why is the biggest tree on the course right where you need to hit your tee shot blocking any approach to the green? Dumb. Cut it down and it would be a very cool hole as you would be hitting your second shot from a high elevation to a lower green.

A good place to hit some balls at targets for cheap

This course had a pretty good layout with a mix of holes including straight-aways, doglegs right and left, short par 3's and long. The course is in the middle of nowhere so the condition was what I expected. I got a great price so it was worth it. The fairways were ok even though there were a lot of weeds. By far, the best part about the course were the greens. I was stunned as the greens were in the best condition of any course I've played so far this year (played at least 6 courses so far this year). I wonder how conditions will change as we move to summer. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to play this. But, if you can't find a tee time anywhere else and want to try something new and get out and practice for cheap, it's worth checking out once. We had a good time as there was nobody in front or behind us.

Awesome Course in Fantastic Conditions

This is probably as close to a PGA quality course that is accessible to the public in Indianapolis. The fairways and greens were in top notch shape. Just feels good to play at courses like this every once in a while at a fair price. I found the sand once and I wish all courses had sand like this.
