River Ridge Golf Club - The Vineyard Course
Played On 09/22/2023Gone downhill
This was my “go to” place to play for weather, conditions and cost but now I’m done. Vinyard is a pasture now. The last 2 times I’ve played, the greens were atrocious and fairways and bunkers terrible. I know they recently aerated but I can’t recommend this course any longer. Even before the aeration the greens were terrible. Maybe Victoria is better but Vinyard no bueno.
Olivas Links Golf Course
Played On 11/22/2019Challenging when wind blows
I like Olives Links. It’s an course that makes you play all your clubs. From the tips, it’s definitely challenging but scoring opportunities are abundant. Greens are solid but could be faster. A little too soft and balls never roll out. Pace is good in the morning. Forget it after 8am, you’ll be out there all day. Nice practice facilities but no real clubhouse or drink cart.
Camarillo Springs Golf Course
Played On 08/11/2019It’s getting worse
This is the 2nd review and I have to be honest, this course is getting worse. Now, they don’t even bother cutting or rolling greens on a Sunday morning round. The entire course is soaked and barely any type of fairways to be found. Tee boxes are atrocious and every one of them has you hitting from a sidehill lie. I don’t think you can have a worse condition course. Maybe saw 1 or 2 workers and they were only watering more wet spots. Just break a dam and let it flood. It would be a better lake than a golf course.
Camarillo Springs Golf Course
Played On 06/09/2019Not worth it unless on sale
First of all, I don’t write reviews often but I think it’s helpful to inform people of experiences to help them make a accurate decision. Camarillo Springs has potential to be a great track, but overall it was sub-par(no pun intended) for the most part. I was suppose to tee off around 5:30am but the pro didn’t show up until 5:35am. Price was great so I guess can’t be too picky. Anyway, tee boxes were the worst I’ve seen. Fairways were soaked and muddy. Greens were actually decent and rolled pretty well. Difficult from the tips and with a little TLC, this course could be good again. 2.5 out of 5.
Tierra Rejada Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2017Get what you pay for
I've played Tierra Rejada about 7 years ago and thought to give it another try. 29.00 plus fees for Sunday round was hard to pass up. Course was in poor condition. Fairways choppy with dead spots and GUR everywhere. Even when you found grass it wasn't cut or tight. Greens very slow and tons of ball marks everywhere. Felt like a 9 hole muni but for the price I can't be too critical. I can't imagine paying a penny more.
