Augustine Golf Club
Played On 04/05/2020Don't Play Augustine GC in April, 2020
I regret to have to recommend that you don't play Augustine GC in April, 2020 as there is NO GRASS on any of the fairway, the greens were aerated in early April and are mostly sand and they won't tell you any of this unless you ask. Most golfers know this is a Bermuda grass course but they usually over seed in the spring and fall to make it playable. They aren't doing that now and you will find you will be hitting the ball off of essentially dirt and a small amount of dead grass. And because VA has the only golf courses open during the pandemic, they charged us $75 on a weekend and we still had to pay $10 for range balls! Simply not honest or fair. Regrets, G. Colton
Bay Hill Club & Lodge - Championship Course
Played On 03/13/2019Bayhill Golf Club
Writing to add to my review of Bayhill GC regarding playing on 3.13.19 to mention that I would not recommend Roger as a caddie as he didn't know the breaks on the greens as well as the previous caddie I had 2 years ago there.
Bay Hill Club & Lodge - Championship Course
Played On 03/13/2019Bayhill Review
My foursome played Bayhill recently on 3.13.19 just a couple days after the tournament to play on a pro course. Unfortunately, they dialed back the greens to a 10 / 11, they used Sunday pin placements, and the rough was still tough although shorter. You need to be a 10 HC or better to have fun playing here. Although we rode, a caddie was required at the cost of $140. With greens fees of $250 and $200 for a room, this is an expensive day of golf. But if you are playing well, I highly recommend it.
Valencia Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/01/2018Valencia golf course review
Played 12/31 and the course is in good to very good condition. Green were hard and fast. Could have used some water. Pace of play was bad on front 9. Called CH and the guy said “there were 180 people playing .. “. I challenged him and he said they would send out the ranger. Ranger found problem and solved it. Back 9 was faster but overall round was 4:45 when they say 4 hrs on the card. Starter said they were putting 4s off every 7 and 8 minutes which is ridiculous.
Whiskey Creek Golf Club
Played On 04/14/2018Whiskey Poor Greens and Terrible Pace of Play
Golfers, Be ware of Whiskey Creek, called and booked a T Time and specifically asked when they last aerated and how often they put people off. The lady told me they last aerated the greens in Feb and they put foursomes off at 9 minute intervals. I asked how long the round would take and she said 4 - 41/2. I took a chance on Sat, 4/14/18, at 2:15 with my group, The greens were terrible with very little grass and very bumpy with big sand filled holes that couldn't have been 2 months old.
The pace of play was even worse. By the 3rd hole, the course was backed up. Two 4somes ahead could hardly walk and had no business out there. Ranger eventually came out on the 5th or 6th hole but did very little. The 4some in front held us up on just about every hole, The round took over 5 hrs, past 7 pm! Needless to say we won't be back. Save you money, the course isn't ready yet and don't play on the WE.
