North Hill Country Club
Played On 06/14/2019Course in good condition
Despite heavy rain the preceding day, course was in good condition with only a couple of wet spots. Greens were well manicured and ran true. Some holes had blind spots which made it difficult when you hadn’t played the course before. A 9 hole course, so if playing 18, option to play off two different colour tees to make the second nine slightly different (longer or shorter). Course could have benefited from yardages on the fairways.
The Valley at Eastport Golf Club
Played On 4/09/2013Tight course requiring accuracy
I booked a round at this course at the last moment for a low price of $30 per player (incl cart). At this price I was not expecting much, but was genuinely pleased with the course condition, its layout and its difficulty. Although relatively short, the close proximity of housing along the edge of the course, trees, water hazzards and plenty of sand traps meant that accuracy on all shots was required. Unfortunately, I am not that accurate, but it was still hugely enjoyable to pit my wits against the course. Even if you're a big hitter, this course will test you if you can't keep straight! Course condition was good although it appeared that many of the golfers playing before us had not heard that sand traps should be raked after a visit. That is not a fault of the course managers, only of fellow golfers.
Wayland Country Club
Played On 4/05/2013Very average with no special features
Very early in the season, but the course needed a lot of work to clear it up from all the winter debris. So many of the holes were featureless and there was often no way to be sure where the green was - a simple hole planner on the scorecard would have been useful. Suited my playing partner who is a novice and therefore did not need anything too challenging. Very surprised that there was no practice facility.
