Played this course on a visit to my son in college. Popped out at 6:30am on a Saturday and was first off. Cruised around in 3 hours by myself. Tees are in rough shape, but fairways and most greens are nice. Little gimmicky layout in spots, but some of that was simply my unfamiliarity. Tough to walk as two holes on back run parallel - in the same direction - on B9. In addition, a Routing change means some holes are not properly identified (#16 has the #7 tee marker). I’m sure those issues will get addressed, but in the interim, it can be confusing.

Golf course is a fun layout but needs a little TLC. The bunkers are ‘rough’ and they only have two sets of tees where the tee boxes seem usable. But the greens are nice albeit slower than many others in the area.

Golf in late December? Awesome!
Having the greens aerified right in front of you. In December. Sucks.
My understanding of the process is that you need growth to heal and benefit the greens. Warm days and cool nights are necessary. That ain’t happening in December in Michigan.
Confused is the right word. Oh well. I guess I can’t complain - It was golf in Michigan.
South/West at Tanglewood - The Lion

Haven't played Tanglewood in a number of years but really enjoyed it. The course was in fantastic condition - Greens and Fairways were firm and fast. The layout is enjoyable, mixing challenging holes with ones where you can be more aggressive. Good times.
