Great course

This is my first time playing this course, and it didn't disappoint. I've always heard good things about this course, and wanted to see it for myself. This course has a good bit of carry on the tee shots, so be ready for that. Also, there is plenty of trouble if you are slightly off line. The back nine is kind of cool as it plays toward the lake, but don't let it fool you. The 16th hole, even though it is a par 5, the tee shot is tough. It requires you, from an elevated tee to carry it at least 250 yards just to clear the river. The 18th is also a difficult tee shot with a carry over water around 250 yards. All in all, a great course and looking forward to returning.

Pace of play

This is a really nice course, with some really nice length par 4s that if you find the fairway, you can have a birdie chance. However, the hardest hole on the course is a long par 3 with a deep green. The back side has more uphill holes starting on 11, a rather short par 3, but don't short yourself, and a long par 4 that plays longer than scorecard uphill. The home hole also is the same as it is a long, uphill par 5. The major problem we had was on the day we played there we took a later am tee time, and there was a foursome of women who played every shot, and to be honest, they should have picked up at "double par". Please control the pace of play when it comes to this!!

Great features

I played this course with an afternoon tee time, and had a great time. We played 5 of the 6 courses at Gull Lake, and this had the most character. There is no water on this course, but you have to keep the ball in the fairway. Great combination of par 3s, 4s, and 5s. A neat feature that this course has is that it is framed around all these rock walls, which gives it the name. I will definitely return to Gull Lake and hope to play the new course that just opened.

Challenging course

I have played courses all around the North Georgia/Atlanta area and this is one of my favorites. It is a very quirky and challenging Muirhead course, which is rather rare to find in this area. This is more like a 2nd Shot golf course where you play for position, rather than just bombing it. There is a lot of movement in the fairways that can involve hanging lies or side hill lies. On certain holes like 13 (or 4 if they make you start from the back side), play for position rather than challenging the corner and give you enough of a full shot into the green. Also, on 2 (or 11), make sure you don't overclub on your approach to the green otherwise it will go into the woods.

Great Value

This is a nice course in Southwest Florida. It is your typical South Florida layout with everything in front you and wide landing areas. The par 3s can be rather tricky with a lot of movement. I can see why they call the finishing hole "The Gambler". Next time, I might play it a little different. Otherwise, a nice variation of par 3, 4 and 5s on this course.

Great course. Looking Forward to returning.

This course is an amazing layout. Even though it is about 30 minutes away from the Strip, it is worth it. Has a great combination of Par 4s, with some short and others moderately long. Really like the setup of the course, with the front 9 playing clockwise and the back playing counterclockwise. Amazing all around views. Everything is in front of you, with very little forced carries. The par 3s are a little difficult, but that's the nature of the beast. Cannot wait to play the other 2 courses there.

Great layout. Local knowledge necessary.

First time playing this course. Really like the layout. Traditional layout, with course right there. With the exception of water, no forced carries. If you miss the fairways, "blind shots" are the norm. I played the School and Mill and they were both very challenging. Definitely will return to this course.

Great course

I played this course on Saturday. Was a little leary of the weather, but it was a great day. Thought it was challenging, since it was my first time playing it. I really like the layout, with several "loops" where you can run and hide and not see another player or group for over an hour. Just a few little things that the course could improve upon. First of all, try to have a picture of the hole at the tee, score card, or give vital information such as yardage and par value. Secondly, I didn't see much of it, aside from the large colored boxes that give yardage, but there are some people who are old-school like me who like to walk off yardages, so try to have yardages on the sprinkler heads to show distance to green. Lastly, try to make it a little more friendly to the average golfer and fix some of the forced carries to the green. Greens were a little spotty at times, but it happens. Chances are I will make the drive down there again to play this course.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience at Eagle's Brooke Country Club. We like hearing what our golfers have to say, the good and the bad, so we can continue to improve.

Great layout. Local knowledge necessary.

This is my second time playing this course, and it doesn't disappoint. There are several holes on the course that require you to find specific targets and lines off the tee to get to the correct spot. Someday, I will make par on 8, which is one of my arch nemesis. It just takes time learning the course and where to hit or miss in the correct spot. Worth the drive. The GPS is great in the cart, but mine didn't work. Hope they can fix it.

We are sorry to hear about the issue you had with your GPS in cart, hopefully this is just a one-off instance and our maintenance team can take care of it. We are glad that you enjoy the course and hope that your next time out rewards you with par on 8!

Excellent Layout

Really nice course. Several people have referred it to us, and decided to check it out. When we played it, the surrounding areas were under construction, with make-shift direction signage, but that didn't bother us. Typical FL course, with water on either side of the hole, but not on both sides. No forced carries, with wide open fairways. Only problem is that they didn't reload the practice facility as they have an aqua range, so it could be a little tougher to retrieve the balls. Definitely will play again once its "off season" down in SWFL.

Hi "22340T6" Thanks for the great review! We are so pleased that you gave Bonita National a try as we are a newly built course. The construction process does take some time so we appreciate your patience. Please come back and visit us again in the off season. Thanks MGT
