UNC Finley Golf Course
Played On 03/30/2024Ground Under Repair
Course was not in great shape. The conditions were extremely wet and muddy. There was nothing to eat or drink and no cart staff offering snacks if any kind. We were told they have food trucks on Thursdays which didn’t add much value on a hit Saturday afternoon. They also indicated the snack bar would not be open until May. If I’m laying $125 for a round, I expect food and off course amenities to be available and they were not. Course changes were interesting - seems like they manufactured a couple of holes and starting on a par 3 which used to be home ten was odd. I will not be back until we’ll after May and feel like we should have been told there was absolutely no food or drink so we could have planned appropriately.

Excellent course and excellent staff- clubs were lost when shipped so I needed to rent a demo a set of clubs - the staff could not have been more courteous and kind with the situation- pace of play was a little slow for a Monday- 4.5 hours but the course layout and condition of course was outstanding. They didn’t have many food options available on course but the cart staff were outgoing and passed us twice during the round which helped. Everyone we met while golfing here were professional and welcoming and the course is a gem with amazing views and difficult par 4’s. I highly recommend this experience for any skilled golfer.
The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club
Played On 04/21/2018Nice greens
They have an awesome staff and amazing greens. They were entirely overbooked and 9 holes required 3 hours so I only played 9. Great layout and greens but can’t afford to spend 6 hours doing anything. Backed up solid by hole 2 so maybe 5-7 minutes in between times versus the standard ten minutes. Everyone was super kind - the tee sheet was just over stacked.

I always enjoy playing here
Course in tough shape
Very little grass and extremely challenging
Greens rolled true and fast
It seemed like the harsh weather beat up the course and especially the fairways which were struggling
The course needs recovery and should have been overseeded
Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State University
Played On 02/15/2018Long and strong
Black tees are all you want with the driving distances requiring length and precision. The course is penalizing on errant shots and you must be patient and know your distance. Several par 5's are 3 shots minimum from back tees and the wind can cause havoc in the par three's protected from the wind below the trees. There are several long par fours that require approach from the tee versus driver every hole. The views of downtown are quintessential for those out of town guests wanting an authentic Raleigh experience. The staff are always professional and courteous and the driving range and amenities are top notch. A must play for NC residents and out of town guests- excellent experience but tough course!

Rainy Saturday but the staff was extremely polite and professional. The course was pretty open due to slight drizzle and I played as a single and didn't have to wait until 13. The course was in amazing shape considering the rain the morning and night before and the only negative is players didn't seem to repair ball marks but everything else was excellent and is a highly recommended option for an outing with family from outside of town with character and many natural scenes and wildlife.
ChampionsGate Golf Club - International
Played On 02/06/2018Excellent layout and experience
This course is an excellent course with a very challenging layout on the International side. The tee shots require you to read the yardage and avoid trouble on most of the par 4's with short irons sometimes being the best play. The links style and greens were excellent with many natural areas. Make sure you keep an eye on the rock and the winds can make it tough! Only downside was what looks like milItaly barracks surrounding the course which is a trend in Orlando but aesthetically tough. Staff and clubhouse were awesome. Driving range a little beat up.

An often overlooked gen in the spirit of a Tot Hill or mountain type golf course with great views and undulations. Amazing natural areas next to the Neuse with many types of shots required. The greens are coming in nicely, skating girly spongy but beautiful and rolls true. An excellent value with very few on the course during the week. The staff are professional and appreciate you being there.
Employees should not ne able to write reviews!!!! None of this is true. Greens below average and fairways are not being touched until next spring!!!!!
The Neuse Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2017Still excellent
Excellent greens
Excellent food
The rough is no joke and a few bunkers are dusty aka: not up to par but everything else including the staff is awesome. The greens are perfect and once the rough is trimmed and the traps raked- she will be perfect.

Overall a hidden gem and highly underrated- the staff was professional and friendly. The Meadowlands were amazing with scenery throughout and a very challenging layout with nearly perfect greens. Everything was excellent. Par fives were lengthy and challenging. Every club in the bag was used minus the six iron with plenty of left to right and right to left holes. I will play here again and highly recommend.
Thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Riverwood Golf Club - Riverview/Meadowlands Course.

I paid $12 to play here which simply cannot be beat. I thought perhaps the greens or fairways were under repair but they were perfect. The new greens and work they have done is excellent. The fairways are lush and the rough was as penalizing as you want with the club championship played the week before we played. Monty and the staff are excellent and the food very good.

Top dressing made it tough but the greens rolled true and the staff was awesome. We were paired with two great guys and had a solid day on the course. Pace of play was solid and it was not very crowded so we had a great day.

Played On 07/09/2017Excellent and challenging
Amazing course
Red tees were more than enough distance
Watch each other's shots because errant balls are hard to find
Take your time and measure the shots
Awesome layout- awesome staff and food in the new clubhouse also excellent
Can't wait to play again
A true gem with unique city views
Visitors to Raleigh must check it out!
