Lewis River Golf Course
Played On 09/20/2023Lewis River Golf - RECOMMENDED
Lewis River Golf Course is recovering from course maintenance procedures. The greens had been plugged and sanded creating inconsistent putting. However, the course layout is always a pleasurable challenge. The tree lined fairways reward shaped tee-shots with accessible pin placements despite some challenging sand and water hazard locations. The back-nine, at 560 yards longer than the front, can put a damper on a well played front-nine score. Still, a rewarding round of golf had by our foursome.

Aftet losing 11 balls on day one, I only lost 3 today, 2 on the last hole. The course layout is amazing with strategically place traps and water hazards. A real challenge to play. Most unfortunate that greens and traps are in disrepair. When the new owner takes possession, I suspect most of these issues will be quickly resolved.
RedTail Golf Center
Played On 05/25/2023Redtail Golf Course
I enjoyed playing Redtail with my 20-year-old grandson. My experience there goes back to the Progress Downs days, so I was pleased to see it the greens in such condition. It's still early in the Oregon golf season and the greens should pick up pace in June-September. The only slight criticism is the fairway and rough areas with small white flowering weeds making it more difficult to find my ball. Yet, I recommend play there.

The golf course as named, is located overlooking the Lewis River. As a 20+ handicapper from the white tees, all holes are reachable in regulation, though the 608 yard #12 is a challenge. The greens are in great shape for May and will get much faster into July. The views are nice, the terrain is mostly flat, and I'd recommend play there to anyone.

Played On 07/10/2023A Tale of Two Sides
The front-9 at Lewis River GC is an excellent warmup for the longer, challenging back-9. Having lost some distance in my game, the holes were reachable around the front, but the required length on the back left me with an extra shot to reach several greens. The course is in good shape and a fair test. The scenic landscape is always pleasing.
Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club - Ghost Creek Course
Played On 07/21/2022Tee-Off Deal Time Play at Ghost Creek
The hot evening must have kept many golfers away as my full foursome 3:40 tee-time turned into a single. Fortunately I joined up on the 3rd hole with a threesome resulting in an enjoyable evening. The course was in great shape with moderate rough and fast greens.

Played On 06/01/2021Hot Time at The Reserve & Vineyards South Course
I managed to claim the one remaining "Hot Deal" for the South Course, making it a bargain with an additional 20% off code.
I rented a cart ($18) and purchased range balls ($8), which are unlimited if you get to the course in time to utilize the range. The practice facilities are emaculate.
The Course is in exceptional condition. I didn't see one ball mark that was not repaired. The greens are fast, smooth, and true with quite a bit of runout for downhill putts.
A great round was had and I'm eagerly looking for the next "Hot Deal".

Ghost Creek is one of my favorite courses. The white tee length is a challenge, but manageable. The greens are fast, firm, and smooth with accessible pins. A low score must be earned.

The course was in excellent condition. Balls were easy to find in the rough, fairways were firm, and greens firm and fast. Sandtraps were raked and groomed. The only negative was the restriction of golf carts to the cart paths, slowing play excessively.

A premium golf course at a great discount. Ghost Creek was well manicured from tee to green with firm, fast greens.
The only negative was that the driving range warmup balls are usually included with green fees but the range is closed on Mondays.
I highly recommend this course.
Claremont Golf Course
Played On 07/21/2020Claremont G.C. 7-21-2020 Review
This 9-hole course is in good condition with very nice greens. It is a great place for beginners as the pace of play is not pressing, yet Claremont's layout provides some challenges for even the low handicapper.

My favorite course in Portland-Metro area. The course was in great condition, even with a couple of heavy showers that moved through. I had to slip on the rain jacket twice, but not for the entire hole I was on. The greens had just been spiked, but putted perfectly. The golf carts were clean and very nice to have individual carts in our foursome. Highly recommended.

Best value for the money with that TeeOff discounted tee-time. Great landscape views and challenging greens make Ghost Creek my favorite in the Portland Metro area.
Eastmoreland Golf Course
Played On 07/09/2018Eastmoreland GolfNow Booking
Having used GolfNow frequently, I was surprised to see a tee-time change notification from 10:50 AM to 11:41 AM. I did not see the email notification until after the round was played. Had we chosen to walk, the additional heat later in the day may have been challenging, but as a cart golf round, the weather was perfect and the delay afforded us time for a warm-up bucket and some short-game practice before teeing off.
Eastmoreland, is still ranked highly on national public course list, has hosted hosted two USGA Public Links Championships and has been home of the annual Portland City Golf Championship. Adjacent to water hazards and the International Rhododendron Test Gardens, the back-nine in particular, is as beautiful as it is challenging.
The Reserve Vineyards & Golf Club - South Course
Played On 06/05/2018The Reserve Vinyards and Golf South Course is My Favorite
A beautifully scenic course with ample challenges. From well placed sand traps to water features, The Reserve South Course has been a favorite since the days I followed the PGA Pros around the course during the Peter Jacobsen Challenge years. The condition of the course is exceptional for the Portland area and the layout is remarkable for both low and high handicappers.
Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 03/19/2018Aerated Greens Do Not Dampen Spirits
My brother and I hit the Stone Creek Golf Course on a beautiful March afternoon and had a great day. As seniors, cranking up our tee and approach shots was the objective as our flexibility was left in our bags last Fall. Though the greens had recently been aerated taking putting precision out of the equation, the course challenged us on most holes while rewarding good shots. The low cost, cart included, more than compensted for the bumpy greens as I know they'll be great later this Summer.
