Steele Canyon Golf Club - Canyon/Ranch
Played On 03/13/2021Fun, difficult course
Had to pay full price to play aerated greens and tee boxes. Especially disappointing when they have three, nine hole courses. Other than that, fun, challenging course.
Fairways in rough shape
Played here about 18 months ago and left impressed with the course layout and it’s conditions. Different story this time around. Greens were okay, inconsistent speeds imo. Fairways were as bad as I’ve played on in years. It hasn’t rained here in weeks so maybe the result of an irrigation system failure? But hitting shots out of mud, in the middle of the fairway isn’t fun for anyone.
South at Admiral Baker Golf Course
Played On 07/15/2018South, North, both great options
Front nine is pretty easy given the short par 4's and 3 par 5's. Back nine is tough with the run of par 4's you have to go on. Never really need to pull out driver on this course if you can hit any other club consistently straight, 200 yards. Course was in great condition given the summer heat and lack of rain. Bunkers were a problem, as is the case with most courses in San Diego in this price range. Overall, great course and look forward to playing again soon.
Eagle Crest Golf Club
Played On 06/24/2018Worth playing, needs some work
Challenging course layout. Tough day off the tees means a pretty rough round here. Fairway conditions were both good and bad, about 50/50. Bunker conditions are not good...hard dirt, no sand. Greens are all fine, maybe a little inconsistent speed-wise. No cart service. Food and drink options in the clubhouse could use a make-over.
North at Admiral Baker Golf Course
Played On 06/03/2018As good as it gets
Love this course. Highly recommend. Great signature holes. Plays easier than its length suggests. Great for all levels (assuming you understand basic pace of play guidelines). Carts have GPS, as they should these days.
Salt Creek Golf Club
Played On 02/11/2018Challenging course, Good value
Greens are fast, but well maintained. Decent amount of ground under repair, but normal for San Diego courses when there is no rain. Fairways are pretty much all sloping towards one side or the other, so tee shots are tough. Pace is slower than usual due to space between many greens and tee boxes. Offers multiple tee boxes for different handicaps. Overall, I'd happily play here again in the near future.
Willis Case Golf Course
Played On 10/05/2017Great Course, Greenest grass I've seen in some time
The course was in great shape. Never had any complaints about the tee boxes, fairways, rough, or greens. Soft sand to explode shots out of. I did rent clubs however, I'm from San Diego, and next time I might just pay the extra $100 to bring my clubs along. The rentals were old, expected, but in bad shape. I ended up with 3, 9 irons in my bag. One of my buddies had to play without a single wedge. Overall, play the course, do not ever rent clubs from them.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake. We hope to see you again in the future.
