Glen Mills Golf Course

Amazing course, the environment felt like we were in jurassic park. Played at like 3:30 on a Sat at a nice evening rate of $70

Played On 05/31/2022Amazing course, hidden Dye gem
Absolutely love this course, such an awesome unique layout, especially for a public course. Rates during busy times are around $79 I think, but I try to get out here on weekday evenings for $35 despite living about 35 minutes away. If I am out by 5:00pm and the course is not busy, I can normally finish in about 3 hours or a little less even (depending on how I am playing lol).
Foxchase Golf Club
Played On 05/28/2022Awesome course, nice layout, terrible pace at times
This course is great, it's a little on the shorter side, but a terrific layout.
I must admit though, the pace is an absolute disaster when it's busy. I play this course frequently, avoid it all costs on weekends unless it is very early or very late. I can walk this course in 2.5 hours if it is empty, but if you play on a Saturday at noon expect a 5-5.5 hour round, at a minimum. Hole #2 is a very reachable Par 4, and #3 is a Par 3 and I think that contributes to the pace problem, but doesn't totally explain how rounds are routinely well above 5 hours.
Conestoga Country Club
Played On 05/21/2022Very solid course, nothing particularly extraordinary
It is a nice course that will challenge you to make strategic shots in order to score well. The rough was insanely long and difficult when I most recently played here, and I was struggling to hit fairways, so all day was a bit of a scrambling battle for me. The layout is solid, but nothing spectacular. Would definitely recommend playing if you are able to get out.
Crossgates Golf Course
Played On 05/14/2022Some cool holes, but a frustrating layout overall
I'm not a huge hitter, but at this course I swear I should play without a driver. The course feels very narrow and unless you can shape shots in both directions with good control, the driver is often way too long of a club even for me who averages a good drive at around 285.
Holes 17 and 18 are very nice though, 18 is one of the coolest holes around. It takes me a solid drive and a great 3 wood to reach it in 2, and even then just somewhere up around the green chipping is a great result as the green is uphill and protected. Some other holes are pretty cool as well, but 18 stands out by a long shot.
Overlook Golf Course
Played On 05/05/2022Pretty boring layout, but solid municipal course
I currently live like 3 minutes away, but I don't love this course so I don't get here more than once per month, if even that. Layout is monotonous, lots of up and back, up and back. But it is a decent course, especially for someone that isn't a golf nut that tries to get out all over the place. I would still recommend the course for anyone.
Tanglewood Manor Golf Club
Played On 05/01/2022Awesome course, great value
This course has some cool holes, and no stretch feels monotonous. You will need to hit good shots to score well, but there are no gimmicks. It is a fair test of golf for any level.
Highlands of Donegal Golf Course
Played On 04/10/2022Can go very low here, if you are just making solid contact and have a good short game
This is a links style course, basically no trees in play anywhere. If you are making solid contact off the tee in any direction and have a good short game, you can score very well. It is a nice looking course overall honestly, just nothing to go crazy about. A couple holes are pretty cool. Holes 7, 8, 9 feel like you're literally on a different course than the other 15. It's kind of bizarre, but those are probably the coolest three holes on the course.
Hammock Creek Golf Club
Played On 02/06/2022The Florida Club
Played On 02/04/2022Fun course
As a Pennsylvanian that routinely plays Dec-Feb so long as there is not snow and its >25 degrees out, it is tough to beat some warm February golf! The course was great, really enjoyed it despite playing pretty poorly.
Baywood Greens
Played On 09/04/2021Immaculate course
This course exceeded all expectations from me, and they were very high! Beautiful course in every regard, played it on the way home from the beach. Also happened to get paired with probably the most interesting person that I've ever talked to in my life for the round.
I hope to be back again some day to play again!
Dauphin Highlands Golf Course
Played On 08/14/2021Great course, will play again
First time out, great layout and conditions. I hope to get out again next year at least once.
Cool Creek Country Club
Played On 08/05/2021Decent course
Nothing spectacular, a couple of cool tee shots off of holes. One Par 3 has a huge drop off, you can make a crater in the green depending on your swing.
Pilgrim's Oak Golf Course
Played On 07/24/2021Awesome course
First time playing here, very cool holes throughout. Highly recommend!
Sportsman's Golf Course
Played On 07/10/2021Made 2 eagles on the back 9!
This course is a pretty easy layout. I drove the green on hole #1 and birdied. I have around 12 eagles in my life, and 2 came on the back 9 here. One was hole #13, a par 5 that I went driver, 8i to about 8 feet and sunk the putt. The next was a reachable par 4 hole #15 and I drove the green and then made a 40 or 50 foot putt with like 30 feet of break!
Bent Creek Country Club
Played On 06/03/2021Terrific course, awesome bunkers
This course is terrific, never played a course with such cool bunkers. Layout all around is superb, lots of challenging tee shots to give yourself a good approach look. Highly recommend to get out here if you can get on.
Omni Bedford Springs Resort - Old Course
Played On 04/17/2021Beautiful Course, Rich History, Highly Recommend This Course!
This is one of America's oldest courses, offering a ton of rich history in addition to its immaculate conditions and terrific layout. Initially laid out in 1895 by Spencer Oldham, the course has undergone significant renovations by architectural legends A.W. Tillinghast in 1912 and Donald Ross in 1923, each adding their own influence and lots of unique features that are tough to find these days.
The layout is a truly unique masterpiece, offering five Par 5s and five Par 3s with a 37/35/72 Par. There are many interesting green structures, as well as extremely rare "serpentine" and "doughnut" bunkers. The "Volcano" is an uphill Par 3 that requires a 220 or so yard carry, or you risk your ball rolling back down the steep slope potentially 50 yards. "Tiny Tim" is a gorgeous 100 yard downhill Par 3, with a small kidney bean shaped green protected by a scenic lagoon, 5 bunkers, and a series of "alps" (mounds in the rough surrounding the green 2 feet high and 10 feet in diameter).
I played by myself and drove 2 hours each way, and am planning to do it again in 2 weeks with 2 friends. If you are ever in the area, definitely make an effort to get out for a round!

Congrats! But number 9 is a par 5 ;)
Adding a comment/update to my own review.... I played here again on Oct 24th 2021 and made my first (and so far only) hole-in-one on hole #9! I love this course!
Pitch And Putt at Evergreen Golf Course Inc.
Played On 10/17/2020Good value pitch and putt, good for any level
I am an avid golfer, and went with a friend who has not touched a club in 5+ years and was never a golfer (maybe played 5 rounds ever). We both enjoyed it still, I used my 56 degree and putter, and he used his PW and putter. The 18 holes range from about 60 yards up to 125 yards. Some of the greens are tough to actually hit because they are pretty small and most of them are elevated a couple of feet so balls roll off easily. I probably hit 6 or 7 of them. I shot a 69, and my buddy shot a 94, all holes are just a par 3.
I do wish they would get new mats at the tees, I played maybe half the holes off the mats and the other half on grass near the mats.
Well worth the <$10 for an hour and a half of pitch and putt!
Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Iron Valley Golf Club.
