Nice layout and very well kept, despite heavy rains recently. There are some waits and the course attracts a lot of amateurs but it’s still a pleasure to play.

Nice woodsy course but very narrow in spots. Need to make straight shots or pay the price! Staff very helpful. Nice pro shop. Some beautiful views on the course. Peaceful place!

While it’s true that this easy 9 hole course attracts a lot of beginners and inexperienced players, the pace of play is not too bad and course is always in great shape. Very flat and easily walkable.

This course is a gem among the public courses on Long Island. Greens were perfect, course was well taken care of. Sand in bunkers! Nice layout. Highly recommended!

Course was in good condition, but a little dry due to the fact that we’ve had little rain this summer. Fairways in great shape. Some tee boxes were quite worn. Nice renovations to the main rest rooms in the central house. Nice to have a refreshment and restroom station at hole #4. Pace of play was very good for a summer Friday- 4 hrs 15 min. $51 is a bit high to pay to walk… $40 or $45 would be better.

Old classic municipal course that’s in pretty good shape considering all the use it gets. Course was in great shape, except for the bunkers which need to be worked on— no sand and grass growing in many of them. Greens were in very good shape. Played in 3 and a half hours on a weekday afternoon.

Great course to play.. Course was well maintained. Greens were nice but slow and some bunkers had lots of pebbles. Staff attentive and friendly. Pace of play just under 4:30 for a weekday. Opening hole are long but then there are some some easier holes. Worth the trip!

Unusual short course with multiple elevation changes and challenging areas. Some pin positions were unfair (on mounds Or downslopes). Some scenic views especially on back 9. If you walk you have to be in shape to hike the hills. Small parking lot gets filled quickly. Lots of beginners on the course, but pace of play improved as the day went on.

Love playing this 9 hole course! Course conditions were great. Nice to see ball washers and benches on most holes. Sand in traps is great. Pace of play not too bad, given the many beginners playing the course.

Great place to play. Conditions are great, especially the greens. Bunkers in good shape. Pace of play is always an issue- waited 5-10 minutes on every hole on the back 9. Still, it was still nice to play.

Great course for all golfers. Course is well taken care of and the layout is interesting and fair. However there are delays oftentimes and hackers who produce those delays, so be prepared.

As with most courses this time of year, it's tough to rate because the grass needs to grow in. That being said, the layout is excellent. The back 9 is especially challenging with some very long holes and challenging greens. However, the sand traps need a lot of work for the upcoming season-- some have no sand, some have sand but have not been raked, others are washed out, and collars are worn. Greens were is good condition-- all open!

Great track and everything as green as can be in the middle of the desert! Great practice facilities and amenities. Only complaints: greens running a bit slow and uneven; many bunkers did not have enough sand. Otherwise a pleasure… and we will be back!

Warm New Year’s Eve day brought a lot of people out for a final 2021 round. Course conditions were good; greens ran well. Grass is not really growing any longer, but the course still played fine. Starters were on top of things and clubhouse is very nice. Some narrow holes, but generally very playable.

Great course that is well maintained! Greens have been improved over recent years and we’re running well. Grass was cut down, but the season is coming to an end. Delight to play in the off-season, when waits are few!

Old style golf course with no fairways and quirky hole layouts delights the experienced golfer as well as the beginner. Could be walked, but carts recommended. Blind shots on many holes, so scope things out before taking shots. Clubhouse has great views and is nice to have a bite (in season). Look for incredible rates ($10 with cart).

You have to bring your A game to this course, as it has many challenges and will test all your golf shots. Narrow fairways and fast, sloping greens make it pretty tough to score well. Water hazards exist on most holes as well. Course is in tip top shape and is well maintained, one of the best public courses I have played on Long Island. I was just disappointed the halfway house was closed and no food available at the turn. But it is off season.

Course is in great condition. Greens are excellent and rolling well. Some rough areas around the course, but generally very good conditions. Staff members were friendly and the price was right. Played in 3 and half hours! Hope to play there again soon!

Course was a in great condition, but as a muni it attracts a lot of slow golfers and our round took 2.5 hours for 9 holes. Expect some delays, but a nice course to play, for both beginners and advanced players.

1901 golf course has very hilly terrain and numerous blind shots. Unusual feature: you will not find a fairway on this course, only cut grass, old style. Not many bunkers to speak of. Greens were in perfect shape and playable. It's best to (1) take a cart, (2) scope out the hole before you play it, (3) beware that the ball will jump downhill on most greens, so lay-up. Clubhouse restaurant is a gem with spectacular views on sunny days. Course is rough around the edges, but worth playing and unique.
