The Pines at Elizabeth City
Played On 02/26/2020Tough conditions
Considering the amount of rain we have had, the course wasn't as bad as it could have been. The greens were in very decent condition. There were some really wet and muddy spots and my plugged on multiple shots. All in all a tough day on the links is still better than a great day at work.
The Pines at Elizabeth City

The carts are in great shape. Tee boxes were OK. Fairways are brown for the winter but not in too bad of shape. Greens needed a bit more TLC. They were fast but there were a few bad spots here and there. Also, it would be really nice if folks would repair their divots and not throw their cigarette buts in the sand traps. All in all I would recommend this course.

The course is laid out nicely, making you plan your approaches. This area of NC has been dry for weeks, so the fairways were a bit hard and crunchy. Some of the greens were still under repair but most were good. I had early tee times so the course was not yet crowded and I went right out. The staff were very friendly.
Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Valleyview/Lakeview Course
Played On 04/16/2019Nice Day on the Links
I played on a Tuesday morning and arrived a bit early. I was greeted by the State who was quite friendly and helpful. He gave me a few options of where to start. The course was basically all mine. Tee boxes, fairways, and most greens were in decent shape for being early in the season. There were a few that were being repaired but not bad at all.
During play I lost my cell phone. The pro shop staff went out of their way to help me. At first I thought it was a loss, but about an hour or so later I got a call and was informed that one of the staff had found it. What a relief. I would definitely recommend this course and give the staff 2 thumbs up.
