The First Tee of North Florida - Brentwood Golf Course
Played On 11/10/2019Great layout
This is a nice 9 hole course in north Jacksonville. It has 3 par 3's, 5 par 4's,and 1 par 5. There are several tees to play from depending on your ability and challenge desired. Some of the par 4's are rather short so long ball hitters have to wait for the green to clear, which slows the pace down, rather than hit a shorter club (we got stuck behind one who thought he could hit it farther than reality). Overall the course was in good shape. Some of the sand traps were not raked (not the course's fault) as my ball landed in a deep shoe print. I also fixed numerous ball marks on the greens (I do this on every course we play), again not the courses fault. If you want an inexpensive round nearby in Jacksonville, this is it. The gentleman behind us said it was the first time he had to wait to tee off as a walk-on, and he golfs there often!
Brookfield Golf and Country Club
Played On 06/01/2018Great local course
The course was in excellent condition and the greens were quick. Pin placement can be a challenge . Lots of sand and creeks to avoid. Got bunched up on 15th through 18 but other than that waited on nobody.
Crown Park Golf Course
Played On 12/12/2017Great course at a good price
Course was still a bit wet after all the rain we had. Unlikethe day before when iot was cart path only, it was now 90 degrees making the pace of play a little quicker. My wife and I both enjoy this coursre for the remoteness (no houses) and the challenge. There is a lot of water, butmost is not in play, just a tease. You could play a round without a driver. We played this course 8 times in 6 weeks! Try it.
Magnolia/Dogwood at Brunswick Plantation & Golf Links
Played On 12/04/2017Great course at a good price
Course winds through the subdivision andis a great layout. Can easily lose balls but fairways are generous. My wife andI really enjoyed playing here. We paired up withanother couple after 3 holes, but they had never played here either so none of us really knew how to play the course. We still had a great d ay and recommend this course!
Crown Park Golf Course
Played On 12/01/2017Nice layout
Course is a challenge. It is stilla bit wet in spots, especially around the greens. Pace was a bit slow aswe were stuck behind a slow foursome with noone in front of them. We could have skipped a hole to pass, but daylight was not a problem. Not the courses fault but could use a marshall now and then.

The course was in great shape even after the rain. It was cart path only on 4 holes but that didn't affect pace of play. We were able to finish 18 holes in just over 4 hours. We even made it to the clubhouse for a drink before they closed after teeing ioff at 12:30.
Eagle Nest Golf Club
Played On 11/19/2017Eagle Nest is a great nearby course
Course is in great shape and over-seeeding is coming in nicely! We always enjoy this course. It is well worth the price and the pace of play was OK considering it was full.
Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club - Sand Nine
Played On 11/18/2017The course was in good condition
This is the third time playing Bay this fall. We enjoyed playing this course along with Piper. Pace of play is reasonable considering the number of players. I would recommend Sandpiper bay!!
Beachwood Golf Club
Played On 11/10/2017Slow day at Beechwood
Unfortunately Thursday was a day of very heavy rain so as expected, Beechwood was cart path only. This made for a very slow round of golf (not the courses fault)! The course was very wet in spots but considering the amount of rain we got, not that bad. in spite of that, we like this course and will play here again.
Crown Park Golf Course
Played On 11/07/2017A nice course away from the main drag
This is a course with lots of water, but most is not in play except for errant shots! The course is in great shape and the greens were true and fast. It was our first time playing this course but will definitely play again. There are no houses in sight anywhere, only pine trees and forests.
Eagle Nest Golf Club
Played On 11/06/2017Eagle Nest in November
This is a good course with a nice layout. Unfortunately we were stuck behind a slow group but were stilll done in 4 1/2 hours. The course was quite wet around the greens due to watering and over-seeding as expected for this time of year. Otherwise goodcondition and worth the price.
Brookfield Golf and Country Club
Played On 07/11/2016Nice layout
Brookfield is great course in a small town. The layout is ideal with short distances from green to tee. There are some challenging holes, particularly when the wind picks up, making for some longer pars. For a good day weather-wise, the course was not busy at all, making for a quick round in about 3 1/2 hours. Highly recommended.
Truro Golf Club
Played On 05/07/2016Truto Golf Club
As always, the course was in good shape. Play was started on the back nine, and carts were not allowed on the front nine, so we had the option of doing the back nine twice, or walking the front nine, which we did. Truro is not a terrible walking course so no issues there. It was soon apparent that the front nine did have some wet spots, and even sand traps filled with water, warranting the power cart ban. It was still a great day for golf on a mature course in reasonable shape for so early in the season.
The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 12/10/2015Great course
Course conditions were excellent and very quiet, which meant a quick round. We had the course to ourselves. It was in great shape. Course has a lot of sand, water, and many scenic holes. it is expensive, but watch GolfNow for some deals.
The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 12/10/2015Nice layolut
Course was in good shape. The greens are small and some are protected by water, requiring precise shot placement. Good value with Golfnow discount.
Legends Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/06/2015Good Value
Great course with 5 tees for all types of golfers. It is fairly short from the forward tees and a good challenge from the back tees. Course was dry and in good condition. The greens were a bit slow but overall were good. Very good value, especially using GolfNow.
Jones at Sea Trail Golf Resort and Convention Center
Played On 11/28/2015Still a bit wet
There are still several holes that are cart path only, and of course all par 3's. Other than that the course is in pretty good shape. There are a few holes that should probably be cart path only as they are quite wet. Overall a good course and great value.
The Valley at Eastport Golf Club
Played On 11/18/2015Tight Course
Narrow fairways and lots of water make this a good challenge, even for experienced golfers. As already mentioned, cart paths are horrible.
Thanks for the 4 star review! We appreciate your feedback about the course and hope to see you again soon.
Beachwood Golf Club
Played On 11/16/2015Good course
Course plays fairly easy and is in great conditions. Only 2 holes were cart only! Greens are a bit tricky but overall a good course to play as couples. Pace of play was pretty slow with 18 holes taking 5 hours. Fortunately we teed off at 11:30 so no worries about daylight for us. Use Golfnow for a great price.
Hi pacopc,
Thank you for playing at Beachwood Golf Club. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your round. We are sorry to hear pace of play was a bit slow, but glad to hear daylight was not an issue. We hope you will be back to see us for another round soon.
Best Wishes,

Diamondback Golf Course
Played On 11/14/2015Good course
Course was in pretty good condition considering all the rain. The fairways were dryer than other courses we played, although it was still cart path only. Except for the first couple of holes we didn't see anyone ahead or behind! We used golfnow to book and got a decent rate. The course is not overly long but is tight in spots.
Thank you so much for your detailed review. We are glad that you enjoyed your time at the course! We hope you join us again soon.
