Typical winter golf, the fairways and greens were frozen, but they were clean of debris and goose droppings. The ball bounced straight on the frozen fairways and the greens for the most part were even and ran true.

MI had a 6:48 am tee time. I arrived at 6:15 and had to wait until 7:20 for someone to open up. His advice to me was don’t show up early. They never open early. I complained that they shouldn’t sell early tee times if they don’t intend to honor them.

I made a 7:30 a.m. tee time for Saturday, 1-19-19. I arrived at the course at 7:00 and left at 8:00. No one came to open the course and I did not receive any notice of cancellation. Granted there was heavy frost, but there should’ve been someone there to open and provide guidance when the course would open.

I’ve played Emerson GC for almost 20 years and it was always a good course. Since being taken over byBergen County, it has been ruined. Most of the tee boxes were dead crabgrass with dirt. Most of the fairways had large areas of barren dirt. The only good thing was that the greens were in good condition.

Bergen County should lean from other counties on how to maintain golf courses.

What a great course! Immaculate condition, beautiful views of the NYC skyline, bridges, river, etc.
Great practice area and friendly staff.

The White course was in fair condition and the Blue was better, but still just average.
The best part of the day was the bar and cheeseburger after the round.

What a beautiful challlenging course. We drove 2 1/2 hours and it was well worth it.
