Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course
Played On 11/13/2017Great Fall Day at Camelback
Played in the middle of a scramble tournament but made it around before dark. Very nice layout. Greens were in super condition. Tees nearly all the way back on the par 3's made it more challenging and fun. Good track.
Legend Trail Golf Club
Played On 11/05/2017Looks Easy But Its Not
Bring your A game. At least get ready for a fair challenge. Desert on the right, desert on the left and several forced carries. A nice desert course, well designed and the choice of tees will make a difference. One of the best courses that I played in Scottsdale.
Baytowne at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
Played On 5/6/2013Good golf value on the Emerald Coast
My wife and I played the Baytowne Course and we really enjoyed the layout and the pace of play. Some areas in the fairways and on the greens needed a little attention, but it was still a fun and challenging layout.
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 3/28/2013Course was in very good condition. Pace of play could have been a bit faster.
I have played this course a number of times because I enjoy staying at Starr Pass. The Pro Shop did a good job of welcoming me. The condition of course was very good. This included tees, fairways and greens. Starter and player's assistant were attentive. There are some forced-carry desert/target golf holes that you need to get to know. The set of par 3 holes on the Rattler to Roadrunner combination are a real treat and challenge.
Golf Club at Vistoso
Played On 3/26/2013Course needs water
Played here in late March and the fairways were parched. Pace of play was good until things got backed up on the last part of the back nine. Lots of forced carries over desert. This used to be a beautifully landscaped course but it has not aged gracefully.
Primm Valley Golf Club - Desert Course
Played On 3/21/2012Nice compact layout in the California/Nevada desert.
This was my first visit to Primm Valley - the Lakes Course. Pro shop welcome and guidance was helpful. Practice range was chaos, no organization and not enough spaces with players waiting to warmup. Space on the practice green was also quickly used up. Once on the course things went reasonably well. The layout was very good. Several greens have tiers, or multiple levels so playing more than once is helpful to understand pin locations. There were no marshals on the course. Pricewise this was a great value because I was able to take advantage of the GolfNow "Hot Deal".
