Eastmoreland Golf Course
Played On 10/08/2020West at Glendoveer Golf Course
Played On 01/05/2019Surprisingly Good Greens in Feb
This course is pretty straight forward and pretty easy for the better player. Its right in front of you. The front is much easier then the back.
Pace of play is rarely an issue. If you play early you can almost guarantee to finish under 4 hours (played in 2hr 30min this round).
The greens were in really good condition and fairly quick for February.
Only problem I wish they didn't raise the price so much in the summer but it's business I guess.
Heron Lakes Golf Club - Great Blue Course
Played On 03/09/2019Grew up playing this course. If you don’t play it all the time (Men’s club) or Pro or a really good Am who is daily accurate this course can give you fits. And the back 9 is one of the toughest 9s in the state. It’s a love hate relationship with the blue. You play well here you can play well anywhere. The only I need to accomplish is shoot under on the back and then do it consistently. Great course.
West at Glendoveer Golf Course
Played On 01/21/2017Overpriced except with a Hot Now Deal
So I play a wide variety of golf course and have played some really beautiful courses. I have been fortunate to work in the golf industry and have access to great courses. The west course at Glendoveer is a great course for beginners and a great course to get your confidences up or for older golfer who have lost some distance. The front 9 is straight forward and the easier of the 2 nines. There are some solid holes on the back. 12-16 are the best holes on the course. With 16 being a pain (I hate a draw and it calls for a fade). I like 18 as finishing hole even though its a par 3.
My biggest issue is with the price. I hate when I have to play here on a Saturday morning in the summer. Its extremely overpriced especially compared to the east course or other courses in the area. They really need to lower the price. Ive played Gresham golf course, which has a better layout and is usually in great shape, and have been amazed of the price compare to Glendoveer. The only reason I gave this 5 stars for the Value For the Money is because I played with a hot now deal. It beat hitting balls.
Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Played On 10/30/2016Good enough for the Pros
Ive played this courses a few times when I lived in Scottsdale for qualifiers and in tournaments. Its a challenging course. I like this course much more then the Palm (8, 9, 12 & 13 I hate). I see why the pros have there Monday qualifier for the Phoenix open is held here. You can score on this course and you can get big numbers. If you have great control over your game you shouldn't have a problem here. I like forward to adding this course to my rotation of courses I play when I come to the town to visit next.
Rose City Golf Course
Played On 10/01/2016Always good a time
I've grown up playing this course. The course was in good condition and the greens were perfect. I should play better here but some holes jus get me. And the finishing 2 holes are extremely tough. Love playing here.

Played On 09/18/2016Tough challenge
Tough challenge. Course is hard but that's a good thing in my eyes. It doesn't suite my eyes but whatever I still enjoy the challenge. I did set a personal best but I feel I can still go lower on this tough challenge of a course. Made only 1 birdie which doesn't help my cause. Most take advantage of the par 5's on the back. If I wanted to show visitors Portland area courses with bite this course would be one of them. I would include chehelm and heron lakes great blue.

I've played this course many times. It has become our last min rd. But this course is over priced. It's shame they don't lower the price. Shows how money hungry they are. Oh well

Played On 05/08/2016Great Blue Monster of Portland
This is one of the hardest courses in the area. Has taken me some time to learn how to play. Greens are always good. Final 4 holes are tough. The pin on 17 was ridiculous. Only bad part of the day besides the wind and lack of focus

I've worked in the golf industry and played tournament golf. Played many types of courses and conditions. When I played the course it was just under the 2 week mark of them aerating the greens. The greens were decent but I have to question the super. In my many years of playing these greens are by far consistently the worse greens I've played. Granted this course gets plenty of play but these greens aren't good. I have friends that are average golfers that complain about this every time they play. It has become a "last resort" course. And the west course isn't much better but it's a good course for beginners and seniors but it is highly over priced. I will never play full price to play there again. I feel the new ownership isn't worried about the quality of the course jus the quantity of players. It's a shame too I really love the layout of the course. Also they need to have a marshall to help pace of play. You should play in 4 and a half or less.
