The Golf Garden of Destin
Played On 01/04/2014Executive Course with lights!
I dont know what the course is like during the day, but it really is a blast to play under the lights. There arent a ton of these around, and it's pretty fun to get to play at night. You do get a cart, but you really dont need anything more than a 5-iron out here. Stop by and have some fun though! Great for kids
The Golf Club at Bluewater Bay
Played On 12/26/2013Quiet But Nice
Bluewater Bay is a "resort" course, but it's really more of a neighborhood course. There are 4 nine hole courses here (i think once closed). For the price they are great, if you want to stay away from the tourism and traffic of destin and fort walton, then this is your spot. The course is short, but the views are great, and they take care of the course for the most part.
Indian Bayou Golf Club
Played On 12/18/2013One of the BEST in town!
Indian Bayou is a treat! The course is a bit different than the rest of the destin courses. Indian Bayou is found a bit off the beaten bath of tourists, and sits in the middle of a nice neighborhood where the locals live. Dont let that fool you though, the course is top notch! The pro shop staff is great, the cart staff can be hit or miss, but there is always a great time to be had here. If you can find it and put up with a bit of plane noise (it sits next to an executive airport)
Winter Park Golf Course
Played On 11/30/2013Just another Muni
The title says it all. There's nothing really special about the course. It's just an in-expensive round of golf. Get there early because they usually have a ton of play.
Crane's Bend at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 11/16/20139-Hole Riding Course
This is a pretty nice 9-hold riding course. It's more than a par-3 course, as you may even use a wood a couple of times! The course is well kept, and is a pretty nice little nature course. you can get on and off really quick out here and its prefect for someone on a time crunch!
The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 11/09/2013Resort Course - You get what you pay for
This course can be challenging due to it's fairly tight fairways surrounded by single-story condos. It's an affordable course (for a resort), and it's more of a 2nd thought to the Legends course in terms of upkeep. There is no real dress code here, so if your just a tourist looking for a quick round, this course will be perfect for you.
Kelly Plantation Golf Club
Played On 09/21/2013Best Course in Destin - $$$$
Kelly Plantation is possibly the best course on the panhandle of Florida. The greens and fairways are aways in pristine condition, and the views of the bay are spectacular. The only drawback to playing here, is the price. It can be very expensive for those on a budget, but if you're willing the fork out some cash, you will be extreemely pleased.
The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 09/14/2013Hidden Palmer Gem
The legends course is the best course of the bunch at Orange Lake. This is a Palmer design, which you will have a hard time finding a match in a resort-style setting. Each side gives you a completely different feel, so it's almost like playing 2 entirely different tracks
Dubsdread Golf Course
Played On 09/08/2013Tough! but fun
This course is pretty historic, im told its the oldest in Orlando. You can tell, this course is short and tight, but that also makes it a blast, club selection is key and you will rarely use a driver out there. Even Bubba Watson played here on an ESPN special!
Grand Cypress Golf Club - Links Course
Played On 09/07/2013A-MAZING
Best course in Orlando (that i've played). It's completely open (scottish links course). It's nearly impossible to lose a ball or to find water, but 10 ft deep pot bunkers in places where they shouldnt be will severly effect your score. This course is awesome and there is nothing like it in town! MUST PLAY
Seascape Golf Beach and Tennis
Played On 08/03/2013Resort Course - Cheap and just ok
The course is one of the older courses in town, and you can tell. Seascape is also the cheapest course in Destin, and the clientelle shows that. If you are looking to just work on your game for a low rate, this course is fine, but i wouldnt recommend you expect too much out of it.
