Good basic golf

EVE is a great course for the beginner, high handicaper or average golfer. It’s a very basic layout that is not too tough.
Played early morning on July 2. The greens were excellent. Fairways and tees not bad. The bunkers however were all full of mud and weeds. They need work.

Good basic golf

The east course at Eagle Valley is probably the easiest course in all of northern Nevada, but sometimes that is just what you need to work the kinks out of your golf swing after a long winter. Generally flat, not very long, with big flat greens and very little trouble. A great course for beginners and higher handicappers. I played on Wednesday May 3 shortly after noon with a great Golfnow deal of only $25. The course was very busy and play was slow, so I just slowed down my pace and enjoyed the afternoon. The fairways had some rough patches which is to be expected after a record breaking winter, but hey, a few dandelions here and there add a little color to the experience. The greens were in much better condition. They were pretty hard by mid afternoon, but they rolled smooth and true.

Golf isn't always about high dollar championship layouts with million dollar clubhouses and perfectly manicured fairways. To be honest, sometimes they are just too expensive and intimidating to really be enjoyed. If you want to relax and really get back to the roots of the game, I recommend Eagle Valley East. Take the kids. Take your wife. Take your dad. Just don't take yourself too seriously, and have a great time.
