Borrego Springs Resort - The Palms Golf Course
Played On 04/11/2018First time at Borrego Springs Resort
Even though the wind was blowing between 15/20 mph the course conditions and play-ability of the course made it fun and fare. We played the white tees (men's forward), approximately 5,600 yards, if you want more of a challenge you can go all the way back to 7,000 yards.
The greens were perfect, soft enough to allow an approach shot to bite yet fast enough to get your attention when putting.
Some of the par 4's and 5's required a blind tee shot but other than that the course layout is pretty much right in front of you.
Can't wait to get back to the Borrego Springs Resort, highly recommend it.
Eagle Crest Golf Club
Played On 01/12/2018Round at Eagle Crest
Always enjoy playing at Eagle Crest. The surroundings are magnificent and even though the golf course is located in a residential development most of the course is secluded and the layout keeps you away from the homes. Nature abounds in this rural valley and it's an extremely peaceful setting. Though the course conditions are a bit rough it's never a disappointment, especially for the price.
Welk Resort San Diego - Fountains Executive Course
Played On 07/26/2015Golf at Welk Resort
Fairways were in fairly good condition but the greens were excellent. Pace of play, even as a single was very good, only waited on the twosome in front of me a couple of times throughout the round.
The Executive Course at Lakehouse
Played On 06/19/2015St. Marks review
The course was in better condition than the last couple of times I played and the new Clubhouse/Golf Shop was finished and open.
The big negative was the pace of play. A golf course of this length should not take longer than 2 1/2 to 3 hours to play and it took the foursome I was with 2 hours to play the front nine, we had to wait on every tee box. I finally quit after hole 11 and left the course.
I will not return.
The Links at Summerly
Played On 04/03/2015The Links at Simmerly
About the only grass to be found on the course was the greens and surprisingly they were in quite good condition. The remainder of the golf course was almost completely bare with just a small patch of grass here and there.
Although the links style track had potential of being a really fun round of golf the complete neglect of upkeep gave the impression that The Links at Summerly may not be open much longer.
Eagle Crest Golf Club
Played On 03/06/2015Playing Eagle Crest
Course conditions were average for a public course in this area. Fairways were quite thin and bare in spots. Rough was natural ground foliage with areas of trees and extensive under growth making it next to impossible to find an errant shot. Greens were in good condition with just the usual unrepaired ball marks and were running about a 10 on the stemp meter.
Over all a fun course that requires some course management to post a descent score.
Mt. Woodson Golf Club
Played On 02/20/2015Mt. Woodson
Mt. Woodson is located in a beautiful area blessed with excellent weather this time of year. The facility itself is in good condition although parts of the course could use considerable attention, as can most public courses during these somewhat difficult economic times.
Over all a very pleasant experience. Pace of play was good, only having to wait occasionally on the group in front of us. Would definitely recommend this course to friends.
Thanks for sending along your comments, we appreciate your business and hope when your in SD you tee it up here again.
Fallbrook Golf Club
Played On 11/07/2014Fallbrook golf review
The course conditions were a bit rough but having played Fallbrook many times in the past it was about what I expected, especially this time of year. The greens were actually quite nice, maybe a bit soft, but they held an approach very nicely and the speed was probably about a 9 on the stemp meter.
The fall season was evident with generous amounts of tree foliage on fairways, especially the back 9.
Shadow Hills Golf Club
Played On 7/13/2013Hard to beat for the price.
Although the greens had recently been aerated over all course conditions were good. A couple of the fairways on the back nine were a little barren but for summer play in the desert the course was quite good.
Shadow Mountain Golf Club
Played On 05/27/2013Hard to beat for $14.00
A good value. The biggest downside to the course is yardage markers are non existant. Small palm trees marked 100 yards to middle of greens, difficult to locate 150 and 200 yard markers and no markings on sprinkler heads.
Fairly well maintained old style course, numerous trees and only 3 or 4 water hazards.
We are excited that your first visit was a pleasant one and look forward to having you come back again soon.
