GREAT COURSE

The course is a excellent layout. But the day we played was wet and cart path only. Didn't help that we played from the tips. Course features long par 5s. None is reachable in two. Except for the very short par 3 number 2, the other par 3 3s are all longer than 190 yards.

Not a lot of force carries. On several holes the lake comes into play.

Hi there, it sounds like you had a good round but we do regret that there were wet conditions out there the day you came out. We hope to see you in more ideal weather conditions and hopefully a more interesting and challenging round!

Greens Not as Good

Bear Creek is a good and challenging course to play.

Course is routed through a community so some holes are a good distance. Layout is good. 3 par 3s on the front and one of the back nine. The par 5s are average length; not very long. Par 4s have a lot of force carry over water/native areas.

Fairways are not narrow. But with trees lining the tee boxes, seems like a small window to get through.

Greens used to be in excellent shape. And were one of the best in the area. However, when I played, the greens were not in top form. Played slower than usual and several were diseased.

Mini Verde Greens a Hit!

The greens at CCG were just changed to mini verde. The greens are rolling pure and a hit. definitely worth the upgrade. The course has always been on the list of great courses in the ATL. With the new greens the course is worthy of consideration.

Course is in great shape. Excellent layout and routing. Except for the monster par 4 #8, you don't need a driver.

Surprisingly Good Course

Played early morning after a rain storm and threat of more rain. . . With no one ahead of me, I made good time. Course is in good shape. The greens are good even though judging the speed was tough because of water. Nice layout. Relatively open fairways. Average length.

A Must Play

Beautiful course. Very scenic layout with the river in play on at least 7 holes. Fairways and greens are in excellent shape. Couple of par 3s are force carry over the river. The par fours are average length but challenging. The par 5s are reachable but the greens are well guarded by bunkers and the river. Keep ball in fairways or you will be playing from under and/or behind trees. ENJOY

A Great Test of Golf

We played on a Friday . . . The tee sheet was filled. The started decided it was best to move our tee time back 20 minutes because the group paired with would be slow. The pace was slow anyway since we were paired with an older couple.

The layout of the Stonemont course is superb and challenging. It is good test of a golfer skills. The par 4s are long except for the 269 yards par 4 #2. The par 5s are reachable depending on a well placed tee shots. The greens are large but make sure you hit the right level or you might be looking at a 3 putt.

Great Course . . . Great Layout

This is a very nice course. It is a classic layout so it is not overly long. Layout is nice. No force carry over water. But it is not a gimme. You have the work for par. Accuracy over distance is the name of the game.

Great Potential . . . Average Value

Highland GC features a wonderful layout. The holes can be challenging depending on the tees played. We played the Blue Tees. One must land precise shots in the right spots to have a clear go at the greens. Pars are definitely a possibility on each hole but being reckless will yield double bogeys before you know it.
That been said, I hope they can maintain the course. It was not in good shape. Weeds are more abundant than grass in the fairways.

The course is poorly kept.

I have played Southland a few times last year (2013). The layout is great and it has some challenging holes. It really has the potential to be a great course. However, when I played this year, I was solely disappointed. The course is not tended to. Greens are slow. Pool of water in ALL the bunkers. Fairway either has no grass or the same as the rough.

A Beautiful Layout

A great layout that offers risk/reward on almost every hole. The course is well kept. Greens are true - good roll. The course was not busy at all.
