Ruffled Feathers Golf Club
Played On 09/22/2022Price To Good To Be True???
Great Track.
One of my fav’s.
Great Price offered on TeeOff…
-BUT-
Experienced my all time longest round!!!
A Five hour forty five minute round.
TeeOff/Ruffled Feathers discounted tee time offer followed a shotgun start outing with DOUBLE GROUPS on holes 1-13.
A lot of wrong here… even employees agreed.
Not the first time this has happened at this course.
I guess shame on me.
Blackstone Golf Club
Played On 05/02/2018A Special Place!
All be it remote... (a 50 min trip for me)... Blackstone is well worth the trip!
I've played this pristine conditioned and challenging course frequently the past 8 years.
Selfishly... I wish to keep Blackstone for myself and a small group of friends. So please don't come! LOL
Bowes Creek Country Club
Played On 09/12/2017A Bow to Bowes!!!
One of my top public course choices in the entire metro Chicago area. Fair to all skill levels off the tee with a premium on shot making for approach shots to challenging green complexes. No redundancy in the course layout. A new challenge every time you step on a tee box. Fun and surprising elevation changes on the back nine!
The only negative is they frown on single players and penalize them with non discounted fees.
Yarrow Golf Course
Played On 6/5/2013A hidden gem everyone should play. Very challenging, yet fair.
Yarrow GC has perhaps the best opening hole next to Spyglass Hill in CA. This course has it all. Rolling fairways, cavernous green side bunkers and elevated tees.
Prairie View Golf Club
Played On 5/07/2013One of the top 3 public access courses in the Indianapolis / Carmel area.
Great value for the money. A nice blend of links / prairie and traditional course design that keeps your interest.
Cantigny Golf - Lakeside/Hillside
Played On 4/07/2013One of Chicago area's top five public access golf venues.
Played first week of 2013 golf season. Greens still pretty rough from aeration. When healed... course always pristine. Hosts Women's U.S. Open Qualifier in May.
Old Corkscrew Golf Club
Played On 4/01/2013The best public access venue in southwest Florida.
Not really a place to play for high handicapers. A great test for single digit handicap players. Challenging green complexes ... fast & firm. Great variety in hole design... no redundancy.
Hibiscus Golf Club
Played On 3/29/2013Price is cheaper than all other courses in the area... and here you get a little less than you pay for course wise.
Management trying hard to make this a worthy stop to play. Still has quite a ways to go. Yet I must say I probably had the best time all winter playing here once. Paired up with 3 blue collar, every day duffers/snowbirds from Boston... good people. Club staff also unpretentious... real people super friendly.
Rolling Oaks at World Woods Golf Club
Played On 2/10/2013Well maintained. Nice greens. Good length.
A nice warmup round course prior to taking on big sister course Pine Barrens. Play the tee boxes one longer in distance than you are accustomed to playing to increase the challenge and to help prepare for your round on Pine Barrens.
TPC Treviso Bay
Played On 1/31/2013Course requires shot making accuracy on approach shots to well manicured greens.
Overall a great track and beautifully maintained. Only drawbacks No clubhouse for a meal or cocktails after the round. All that stands is a cinderblock shell of what was the beginning of construction from four years ago. Kind of reminds me of Iraq post war. Also high green fees by the PGA that leave the course operating less than capacity.
Lely Resort Golf & Country Club - Mustang Course
Played On 1/20/2013Typical Florida development golf. Slightly better than many.
Large landing areas off tee's. Better than average green complexes. Worth playing with golfnow discounted green fee. Otherwise, excessively high green fee's for both courses.
Pine Barrens at World Woods Golf Club
Played On 1/10/2013Best Public facility in the state!
Best value in entire state of Florida. They GET IT!!! No price gouging during peak season. Pine Barrens probably even better than TPC Sawgrass.
Seven Bridges Golf Club
Played On 9/15/2012A top 12 Chicago area public venue. Well maintained.
Interesting challenging holes... half of which the east branch of the DuPage river come into play.
