Always great conditions. Greens run perfectly. I have played with low and very high handicappers who enjoy the layout. No hidden traps or gimmicks. I always look forward to driving down to Borrego Springs for a day of golf at Rams Hill. This time we toured some of the spectacular iron sculptures in the desert near Rams Hill before heading home. I have reccomended this course to several friends and they all love the golf course.

Played after a frost delay but everything moved well and dinner after was very good. Conditions were very good, but there are way too many rodents on the course. One even stole a protein bar out of my wife’s satchel that was not totally zipped up. There are probably people who do not agree with removing rodents, but from experience growing up on a farm, we needed to eliminate them as much as possible to maintain a healthy environment for our farm animals. This looks like a situation out of control and I probably cannot blame Escena.

My complaint was that the rough was too long for normal players. I am a 12 handicap and had difficulty hitting from rough, even with a decent lie. Maybe it was just that day. Also greens were very slow. I play on other courses that have fairly quick greens which make putting a lot easier. Overall the Valley course is a great layout and usually fun to play.

We have played Escena many times and enjoy the course.
The last two times including about a month ago, the play has been very slow.
Yesterday, we had 4 groups of foursomes waiting on some par 3's. We were told there was large group that went out late ahead of us sometime earlier. We never did see a marshall, but they were probably tied up dealing with that.
I realize the course needs to accomodate these things, but inconsiderate jerks who ruin everyone else's day should not be tolerated. We and our friends were saying yesterday we will never play there again but will likely give it another chance.
Too many golfers jammed into the timeslots in my opinion.

My frirnd and I and our wives enjoyed the challenging but playable course.
The greens were being top dressed but still ran pretty true.

The course is in great condition for playing. They have a few drainage or sprinkler issues which are being worked on and didn't affect us at all.
One of the prettier courses to play in the area. Well worth the value.

Played with my wife and two friends. We have played all types of courses in a lot of different states and countries, but this was one of the worst. The front nine especially is in very bad condition. Overall, the course is also dangerous to play with adjacent holes leaving players in many vulnerable postions to get hit by a ball. Would not reccomend.
