Ash Brook Golf Club
Played On 09/24/2015Value course for locals
Firstly the guy in the proshop was down right rude. Apparently the time I booked using a 3rd party online sight only gave me and my buddy the right to play and that he would "tell me when I could go out" and would not honor the 8:04am tee time since apparently that was the first tee time and there were already plenty of members there ready to go out before us. Please get this straightened out!
However two great members allowed us to join up with them and we had a very enjoyable time. This is an easy course, rated 69.1 par 72 thanks to several short par 5s. Even though I brought my "C" game we had a great time with the members.
This is a good course for locals. It provides an affordable 18 hole 6,000+ yard experience. It is also a very easy walk.
There is another course near by that is worth the extra money IMHO so you get what you pay for.
I always walk an 18 at Ash Brook when I am in town and will continue to do so even with my poor proshop experience.
Hopefully you will get matched up with some of their members. They all seem like great folk.

I've been wanting to play the course for a while and glad I did. The course was is great shape and the greens rolled well.
I don't make a big deal that others have about the 9's being so different. It is not a big deal to me.
However the 10th is just a bad hole. I was playing the tips and had the course book and played with others who have played the course before. I took the cart down the hill just to get an idea of where to go and by the time I got back up the hill to hit the tee shot I still had a very hard time picking a line and club.
Don't plan to walk the back 9 unless you bring a Sherpa. During the back 9 I found a lot of the time that you need to drive ahead of your shot to see where you are aiming and what the landing area is like. Know how to play the hills, slopes and bounces. One surely needs to play the back 9 a few times to really get a feel for it.
The greens had some nice slopes and breaks so make sure you take a second and give them a good read.
I will certainly play it again when I am in the area.

Played On 04/12/2014Great quick late afternoon round for 2
We had booked a last minute tee time for 2 just before the twilight rates. We played just over 3 hours thanks to a 3-some which let us play through just after making the turn.
6,900 yards is a nice distance. I found most lies to be very tight so leave those high bounce wedges at home. For the price we paid you can't beat it. We could have paid twice as much to place a more known course just up the road but glad we selected this course.
The first green was a little rough but the rest were fine except for another short par 3 in the back nine. It is very sloped and I don't believe have a lot of options for pin positions so it wasn't in great condition either.
Unfortunately somebody ahead of us (not the 3 some) must have been using metal spikes or dragging their feet because we were putting through spike/scuff marks all day. However I don't believe that should be indicative of the conditions of the greens typically.
I wouldn't think all rounds will be as quick as ours but the weather and the pace made for a pretty perfect day.
