Eagle Glen Golf Course
Played On 09/02/2017Work as a team!
Course was great, value is there, and pace good...until we made the turn and stopped for a hotdog. One poor girl faced with a huge order in front of us while no one was in the clubhouse and bagboy just hung out. Need to a system to help each other out. Literally waited 15 mins to get a hotdog! Unacveptable.
The tee sheet was full...be ready!
Moss Ridge Golf Club
Played On 08/26/2017Drag the sand traps!!!!
Lots of sand but the upkeep was horrible. Tracks, hardpan, mud, thick sand/no sand.
Greens in great shape despite numerous ball marks left unaddressed. Staff was friendly!
Lots of potential...but please address the bunkers!
Eagle Eye Golf Club

Simply fantastic experience from hole #1 to #18. No complaints about anything. Easily a top 5 course in the state.
The Highlands
Played On 08/17/2015This course should just close
The good: The men's locker room was awesome. I could easily imagine Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus sitting in there getting their shoe shined. Very cool.
The course is simply a joke. The greens were like putting on cobblestone and the fairways were about 30% dead. The tee boxes were miserable to hit from and mostly dead.
The money spent on new carts w/GPS would've been better spent on updating the irrigation system (or putting one in?).
Very, very disappointing round of golf and I will never go back...and discourage anyone but starting golfers from playing it as well. Dozens of better options in the area, for the same price ($23).
Morrison Lake Country Club
Played On 08/03/2015Tough to be too hard on the course
Ok, listen. I paid $10 thru GolfNow and looked at the course online so I knew what to expect. So I'll come off as harsh, but really don't mean to.
The problems: First, they sent us off the back at 8:00 a.m. while they back loaded the front with a senior league. What that meant is that the greens had not been rolled for the first 6-7 holes and when we finished the back we had to wait half hour for league to be past #1 (not really their fault as we played quite quickly).
I wish I"d paid $5 more and played a different course.
Other Info:
-There is no sand on the course.
-The course is very short...only 1 par 5 and 3, 3's.
-There are about 7 holes that play up and down the same hill and really makes it feel like you are playing the same hole over and over again. I won't go back due to this fact.
-They course was heavily played for a weekday morning but they were very friendly. (Seems to be some kind of big "scramble competition" going on and the locals appeared to be prepping for that.)
-If you're looking to learn the game or shoot in the 60's...this one is the one!
Waters Edge Golf Club
Played On 07/31/2015Nice for the area
We played at the end of July and the course was dry and hard. The layout is pretty good but some quirky holes where some local knowledge really helps (See Also: #10).
The par 5's are all easy and the 3's are fair. Get it for $16 and your good. We paid $22 and felt it was a bit too much for what we got.
The Rogue Golf Course
Played On 07/21/2015For newbs or seniors
Played the course only because of GolfNow and about halfway betwee playing partners. Course was very short and simple with many holes set up left to right. A nice beginners or senior course. Not much of a challenge for the better player. No slope/rating is even on the card.
The lady working the day we were there, we respectfully called "The Hardest Working Woman In Golf" as she checked us in, served lunch, and pulled a pair of newbs of #1 to put them on #10 to get them out of the way.....in 3 mins!!!! Quite impressive!
Hawk's Eye at Shanty Creek
Played On 07/16/201518 Great Holes
Fantastic layout with great hole design after great hole design! One green in rough shape and par 3 tee boxes were pretty beat up but most of course was immaculate.
Played it on a Wednesday with very little play but did slow down a bit toward end..not the courses fault as landing areas are pretty forgiving.
One of best layout we've played, anywhere!
Little Traverse Bay Golf Club
Played On 07/15/2015Great Experience...play it twice to score
Everything about the golf was near perfect! Fairways and greens are very receptive but tough to get comfortable putting. I suggest taling about 20% off of the break you think you see.
Elevation changes much easier to cope with the more you play it, obviously.
Bring a camera and take some pics!
