I have played Riverview many times so I am familiar with their fivesome policy so I was very surprised by how slow the front nine of this round was going. At the seventh hole I observed there was actually a group of 6 golfers playing together. This was slowing down the pace of play even more then usual. A course ranger was making the rounds but I do not believe he did anything to breakup the group of six.
This large group and some of the fivesome pairings ahead of me were only playing 9 holes so the back nine of the round went smoothly and at a good pace.
If you have not played Riverview or the other Sun City Golf course before just know they do allow groups of 5 and that many of the course regulars walk the entire round. Take this into account when you are planning your round.

This is the first time I played Desert Trails and I very much enjoyed it. The pace of play was very good. The course layout was challenging for me and very different from the other executive courses in Sun City West. Course condition was pretty good but there were some wet spots from water runoff and pooling. The greens were slow which is different from other Sun City West courses. They had all of the practice facilities and a well staffed and friendly pro shop. I will definitely play this course again.

I am a big fan of Deer Valley Golf Course and this particular round did nothing to change my opinion. Pace of play: Great. Course conditions: Fairways and Greens are in great shape. Traps are groomed but were a bit wet from the recent storms. This course is perfect for my level of play. The other golfers I was paired with were a pure pleasure to play with. Add great weather for golf and you get my exceptional review.

I have played Sun City Lakes many times and enjoy both courses. My low rating for the Pace of Play was not the fault of the course but of the group ahead of me. Sun City golf courses allow groups of 5 and I knew this before the round started. I was playing by myself and the course was not full. At around the 5th hole, I caught up with the group ahead of me, a five-some. At that tee, the majority of the group had already cleared the tee box and headed towards their balls. One of the group was still at the tee box doing something with his cellphone. After several minutes, he put the phone away and headed for his ball. I say that so I can tell you at least one of the group saw me at the 5th hole. From that point on, they never looked back towards me and did not offer to let me play through. At the 5th hole, a foursome was in front of them but had cleared the green before they hit their second shot. The gap between the group ahead and the five-some continued to grow through out the round. By the time we were on the back nine, the gap was at least 3 holes. I stood within 15 feet of them while 3 of the group hit their their tee shots on the par 3 11th hole. Since I was walking, it was not possible for me to get around them easily to advance to the next hole ahead of them. After the 15th hole I decided to just wait on each of the remaining hole till they cleared the green. The round probably took me at least 45 minutes longer to play then it should have.

Palmbrook is one of the best courses to play in Sun City. It is longer then most of the Sun City courses and has good practice facilities and carts. The only problem I had with this round is that some of the greens looked pot marked due to the number of unrepaired divots left by the previous players. While this is not the fault of the course grounds keepers, it was a bit disappointing to see how the people that play the course do not take care of this. I feel the main culprits are the public players and not the members.

Love this course and I play it often. This was the first time I have played it this winter and I was disappointed that Sun City did not overseed the fairways. The green paint they used on the dormant grass fairways discolored my golf balls. I will not play here again till the late spring when the Bermuda grass comes back.

I play this course at least once a month. The last two times I had my two lowest scoring rounds on this course. With all the rain we has this summer, the course is lush with great fairways and even some rough. Greens are consistent speed-wise. With few people playing in the afternoon these days, I finish the round in less then 3 hours.

I play this course quite a bit and this round was the best I ever had on it. Because of the rain this summer the course is in fantastic shape. Greens are well kept and consistent. With few players on the course in the afternoon, I had it all to myself.

This is one of my favorite courses to play on the west side of Phoenix. Not the longest course in the world but a challenging layout which demands control of your shots. Course is well run and the fairways are in great shape. The Tee boxes were not in good shape on some holes especially the fourth hole. The greens were inconsistant speed wise so it made every first putt a crap shoot. Overall I enjoyed the course on this round.

Fairways and Greens were in great shape. The sand traps have good sand in them and I should know because I put myself in six of them. Greens were fast and a little hard to read. Best part was the people I played with. I always enjoy the golfers on the Sun City courses. The clubhouse is under reconstruction so don't expected much there.

The greens and fairways are in very good shape but the rough is not watered and the grass is dormant. It hard to hit consistently from the rough.

For my level of skill, Palmbrook golf course is the best choice for me of any golf course within 20 miles of my house. Living in the northwest corner of the Phoenix metropolitan area, I have a lot of options for golf. Palmbrook is in great shape, keeps a great pace of play going and has excellent practice facilities for a competitive price compared to the Sun City Courses and Sun City West Course at this time of year.

For a late April weekend in Arizona, the weather was absolutely perfect and the course was wide open. The fairways were in great shape as were the greens. The sand traps actually had sand in them which can be a rarity for some course west of Phoenix. For the first 11 holes we did not have to wait to tee off. Slowed down some on the back nine but still finished in four hours.

This was the first time I played this course. My twosome was paired with a great couple who were club members. They gave us tips through out the round on how to play the course. I will be back.

This course is maintained well. We went after a storm so the greens were wet but even so they played fast and true. The sand traps were completely soaked and most had standing water in them. The fairways are cut well but they are not very smooth. Lots of pot holes and ruts. The facilities were very clean and the staff was very friendly.

Overall I enjoyed the Great Eagle Course. The only issue I had was with the conditions of some of the greens. Many we're not cut well so that they did not provide a consistent surface and several had bear patches.
