Cherry Wood Golf Course
Played On 05/25/2015The greens are in the best condition in years
Cherry Wood has a lot of unappealing factors. To start the tee boxes are hard and most don't have lush grass. Some fairways have slopes in them against the natural contour making unpredictable bounces and rollouts on tee shots. And the main problem is the lack of cart paths and regulation for where you can drive carts. You pretty much go on a cart path past your green to the next tee box. And then drive to your ball the whole way up to the green. This leaves beaten down grass up and around the approaches and backs of greens. Ive been saying for years if they roped off cart paths for a year it would show so much improvement.
With that being said i really enjoy the layout of the course. It doesn't have the adjacent and parallel holes that many have as it sits on a good amount of land. Theres a good mix of water and bunkers and this year the greens are by far the best I've ever seen them. I enjoy the course its a great value but would flourish with some money put into it.
3 Lakes Golf Course
Played On 05/21/20153 Lakes is one of my favorites
At peak times there seems to be too many carts and golfers packed on the course than there should be. This leads to 5+ hour rounds regardless of how you play. Other than that I love this course. I try to get as many febuary, march, april rounds as possible as there are few people out. I feel theres a good mix of lengths and angles in the general layout. Par 3's from the tips range from 150, 262(downhill), 186 yards. The greens are pretty much perfect right now and even if you can't drive 250 yards you will have a good amount of 120-160 yards approach shots. Very enjoyable at the right times.
