Legacy Golf Club
Played On 02/13/2021Best in years
I've always loved Legacy Club's layout and practice area. But the greens could be better sometimes. They were fantastic today. Pace of play was excellent, and shout out to a top notch beverage cart that we saw 4x during our round. Fast and efficient.

This course has quickly become one of my favorites. from the staff, to the pro shop, to the golf course itself which has a fantastic layout, everything is fantastic.
Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch
Played On 10/11/2020Great new course, with since service kinks to work out
This course feels like a hybrid of Lakewood National Piper and the original Esplanade course. It's better than both of those. I place it below Lakewood National Commander and above Piper.
Well stocked pro shop for shark apparel and the pro was great to talk with. Very modern and stylish.
They have issues with the beverage cart. We first saw the beverage cart on the 18th green. We saw the attendant in the snack bar with the scan bar attendant, and she promised she was about to go through the back 9. Never did. Said there were technical difficulties when we saw her at the 18th green and asked why we had never seen her in the course that day .
The Classic Club
Played On 11/27/2019A Classic indeed!
First time playing Classic Club which came recommended from others both before and during my trip. I am thankful for these recommendations because Classic Club was my favorite Palm Springs course. I played.
The Golfweek, Golf Digest, Golf Magazine ratings for this course will certainly be returning to the top 10 in California now that they've installed their outstanding new bunkers.

This course is so solid from start to end. I cannot recall a boring or throwaway hole, with #1 being the weakest and the holes only getting better from there. The layout is just fantastic with a perfect balance of fun/challenge/visual appeal.
I played this course last and it really made me appreciate just how balanced the layout is and how superb the conditions were. It was the only course I played that truly felt like a destination course with no houses, condos, facilities or other eyesores to distract from the beautiful views.
I can recommend Classic Club without reservations to anyone.
Rams Hill Golf Club
Played On 11/26/2019Elite golf course
Played the Ram's Hill yesterday. First time playing Ram's Hill, definitely not the last.
Golfweek has Ram's Hill rated #4 in California, just behind Spyglass Hill and above Torrey Pines South and Rustic Canyon. That seems about right to me, when though Rustic Canyon is my all time favorite golf course.

This course is simply incredible. I love smart, fun courses and that's the heart of Ram's Hill. The service, carts, clubhouse, etc. are all fantastic, but the course is the star of this show so I'm skipping those things, which I rarely do.
The greens were running at 11.5 the day I played and they rolled like a billiard table. Breaks are subtle but grain is not a major factor thankfully. Bunkers are well placed and penal to gobble up errant shots. Since virtually every hole offers multiple ways to play it along the risk reward scale, you can choose to challenge or avoid them. Once you've navigated to your approach shot, the fun begins. Even though this a Tom Fazio course, the greens feel like Gil Hanse had a hand in them, meaning you often can use slopes and green complexes to be creative. Again, you have multiple options to choose from on most every approach shot. This is top shelf and exactly what I love in a golf course. The only disappointment for me was green receptivity, which I believe was intentional to force you into being creative with those slopes and truly punish you for taking the wrong lines into the green.
In summary, this course trades ocean views for mountain views, and is as balanced a course for challenge/fun as you will find. I can't recommend it enough. It's worth every minute of the drive there, and I'll find an excuse to get back and play it again ASAP.
The Stadium Course at PGA WEST
Played On 11/25/2019Unforgettable experience and test of golf
Played the Stadium course yesterday. First time playing at La Quinta or the Stadium Course.
The Stadium course is notoriously difficult, and rightfully so. I was lucky to draw a husband and wife duo who were a 3 and 9 handicap respectively, that had played there multiple times.

The course starts off mildly with some tight, narrow holes that require you to hit the fairway or accept a bogey. You must then hit the green or accept a bogey. If you hit the wrong part of the green you must accept a bogey. It's more fun than it sounds.
This is the tone for the entire course. Pete Dye gives you an assignment, you just follow his directions to complete the assignment. You have options on most holes but there's always one shot that requires you do something exactly right or pay a price.
The par 3's and 5's stand out in particular, and there famous closing stretch lives up to the hype.
I can easily recommend any single digit play this course at least once. Higher handicaps should go into it with the right expectations to have a memorable day. Regardless of score, simply playing some of the holes exactly right will be immensely rewarding and provide good memories and stories after the round.
Legacy Golf Club
Played On 03/30/2019Fantastic layout, held back by easy fixes
One of our favorite layouts. Great mix of risk reward holes and challenging strategic holes.
The conditions are improving. The bunkers are wonderful after being redone last year, the greens were good but not refreshed as you would hope after the maintenance closure.
The driving range was shot. No grass to be had at 8:45am.
Saw the beverage cart many times and she was fast and efficient the one time we bought some Gatorades from her. Thumbs up for that.
Now for the biggest problem, easily fixed. Pace of play. They need at least one ranger steadily reversing the course. The group in front of us has two holes open in front them.
If they bumped the greens from 7/10 to 8/10, the rough comes into season, and they hire a ranger, they would increase return bookings by 50% and membership by 25%.
I hope they do because they're sitting on a choice layout.
The Eagles Golf Club - Forest
Played On 03/09/2019Lake review
I prefer the Lakes course as it seems less congested and residential compared to the Forest course. Greens were the best part of playing there yesterday. Rolled great and were very receptive. Fairways and tees were good, and the rough is pretty scrubby. Overall a good option.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a wonderful four-star review! It's great to read that you had a good experience with us and we look forward to your next visit.
University Club of Kentucky - Wildcat Course

I love both Wildcat and Big Blue. Solid layouts, good conditions, fun to play.

Course is in pretty good shape, is fairly fun and definitely challenging.
Staff was exceptional.
Marriott's Griffin Gate Golf Club
Played On 07/08/2017The right rate makes it a great experience
One of my favorites in Lexington because of the condition of the course and the strategy required when you choose the right tee box to play from. Can be pricey without a deal and not worth more than $45.00 to play.
University Club of Kentucky - Wildcat Course
Played On 07/07/2017Top 3 in the region
In my opinion the Big Blue course is one of the top 3 courses in the area. The layout is fantastic. You are never near a house and the scenery is gorgeous. The course requires smart play from tee to green to get to the pins. The back 9 is challenge for any golfer with the final 4 holes being as tough as any around.
Seminole Lake Country Club
Played On 06/24/2017Great course, excellent greens, amateur ranger
Love this course. Great layout that is firm but fair. Excellent greens, best of anywhere in town.
3 stars because of the ranger. I appreciate when courses have a ranger to keep pace of play going smoothly. But a bad ranger can ruin a round and this one did. He pulls up and asks our group (as we are sitting waiting for the group in front to move so we can to hit), "how long do you think a round of golf should take?"
We answer four hours. He says our group is twenty minutes behind. We point to the group in front of us. He says speed it up and pulls off, rather than apologize.
Terrible approach, miserable way to handle slow play and he should be in a different position at the course.
Now how many reviews he is mentioned in.
I'm the one who convinced our tour to book here instead of Bardmoor and this dashed an otherwise unanimous feeling that we made the right choice.
We will be back, but if the same happens that would be the end.
Seminole Lake Country Club
Played On 03/26/2017Best in St. Pete
If there is a better conditioned public course in St. Pete I have yet to find it. Greens are fantastic, fairways are in good shape and the layout is fun but fair.
The Eagles Golf Club - Lakes
Played On 03/04/2017Great layout, good conditions
I really like this course. The layout makes for a challenging but fun round of golf. The fairways are a little tight both in size and condition. Greens are in good shape and receptive to spin from different shots, within reason.
Wentworth Golf Club
Played On 4/1/2013Tough test of golf
Very challenging layout and fast greens (9.6 on the stimpmeter the day I played). Well maintained conditions and a good test of golf for sure.
Bardmoor Golf & Tennis Club
Played On 3/31/2013Traditional FL course w/ great history
Course conditions were good, pace of play and the staff was amazing and the course is good overall. I do not believe it is worth nearly $40 to play however as it is a pretty straightforward FL style golf course and doesn't hold up well in comparison to other courses on GolfNow for the same price.
Clearwater Country Club
Played On 3/29/2013Good layout, greens are rough, but still fun
Good value with a nice layout but the greens are basically gone. Staff is friendly and the pace of play was faster than average.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoy the Legacy Golf Club layout. Yes - unique and fun track - and hard to get bored with it week in and week out. Pace of Play is one of our main concerns also and we have invested a lot of time and money into improving this year because with Legacy's challenging layout, we have to help our players around. We installed an internal GPS on every cart and invested in a system that tracks the carts based on individual pace of play the USGA deemed appropriate for Legacy, which is 4 hours 16 minutes. Our rangers have an I-Pad to allow them to monitor pace minute by minute in real time -- and are required to stay on top of pace of play 7 days a week. The Greens and Fairways have been great through the season and have held up very nicely.
Look forward to welcoming you back to Legacy again soon.
