Mountain Meadows Golf Course
Played On 08/25/2020A classic course
I love this course. Semi hidden gem of So Cal. Not so hidden, that the course isn't busy. Because it always is. But most of my golfing buddies have not played here.
Each hole asks for a little something different. Each set of tees I've found are usually laid out well, offering different challenges for your handicap.
Pro-shop is well stocked. Staff are friendly. During these covid times, if you're tee time is after 1130ish, prepare to wait for a cart. Every course is like this.
Tee boxes are well managed for the most part. There are few tee boxes with a slanted lies in some areas. But the grass feels good and is not a goat feeding area.
Fairways for the most part are in good shape. For this heat, they are in better shape than most. There are a few questionable areas. But 99% of the time, when you're in the fairway, you're hitting off fairway grass.
The rough here is manicured fairly well. This is probably the least focus of the greenskeeper. But the hilly layout probably makes it tough to maintain. The rough is tough. Robs you of speed and is a great a challenge. Don't expect you're ball to break free if you're chipping through the rough around the green. If you're in the rough, just get back on the fair way.
Greens. Greens are great and roll true. I play here 2 or 3 times a month and the greens are always pretty good.
Restaurant. Food here is pretty good and great value. Cuban, Tuna, and Breakfast sandwich are always on point. Meadow burger is a decent burger.
