Meadowlark Hills Golf Course
Played On 09/28/2021Nebraska Vacation Stop
We stop in Kearney all the time when we drive from our home in Minnesota to our home in California. I bike by this course all the time. Today was the day! The course was in really good shape for being late in the dry summer. Greens were beautiful! The course has a great layout - some flat, some rolling hills, some elevated tees. Enough challenge for both of us - even my husband who has golfed for 60 years! But, still entertaining and not too frustrating for me a relatively new golfer. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful! We will make plans on every future trip through Nebraska to spend an extra day in Kearney so we can golf - and I can bike by the course!
Cimarron Golf Club - Pebble Par-3 Course
Played On 09/29/2020Nice Day for Golf
The course is in good shape. We play here almost every week and the course is in better shape each week. The only issue we encountered was a very slow three some ahead of us. They appeared to be older gentlemen who occasionally took extra shots off the tee, spent time looking for balls in the vegetation and were slow to get off the green. In addition, one of the group continuously parked his cart on the fairway and walked to the green so we couldn’t even tee off. I’m not a long hitter and could have certainly teed off with them on the green. But, the cart was right in my way!! This is a short course and we can generally play 18 in 2 hours. Today it took almost 2 hours and 45 minutes. We really like this course and the value for 18 holes is really good compared to other courses in the area. We will return.
Mission Hills - Gary Player Course
Played On 07/23/2020Impressive Course
My husband and I really enjoyed playing this course. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable, the course was very well maintained, social distancing was being observed throughout the course, players and staff were wearing face masks. The staff made sure to tell us to bring water with us since there isn’t any available on the course. There were restrooms open on the course which was nice to know. Players were well spaced out and we could play as a two some which we appreciated. We played the course in a little over 3 hours. Start early this time of year - our tee time was 6:30am. By 10am the summer sun is getting really hot!! This course was well worth what we paid to play. We will be back!
Welk Resort San Diego - Fountains Executive Course
Played On 02/14/2020Valentines Day Golf
Staff was extremely friendly.. I was thanked for booking my tee time and paying online. That’s never happened before!! Starter was very friendly and had us start before our scheduled tee time.
Course was a good shape, especially the greens. Even though this is an executive course don’t be fooled - it is challenging. Even my husband, who has golfed first 55 years, had difficulties on some holes. The greens were really fast and had our four some baffled at times on properly reading the greens. We had a great time though and will be back!
Riverwalk Golf Club - Sunset 9
Played On 11/30/2019Fun Course But Needs Maintenance
We enjoy playing course and we hope that some funds can be spent to improve it. The fairways are really bare of grass and muddy. The greens aren’t bad. The course has a challenging layout which makes it fun for both my husband and me.
Francis A. Gross Golf Course
Played On 09/01/2019Best Score
I had a very good day playing at Gross. My best 18 hole score ever! We played right after a rain storm but that didn’t dampen our day. I really enjoyed the course - it is just long enough and challenging enough for a relatively newer golfer like myself. Not too much water and bunkers could easily be avoided! The long grass though was hard to get out of!! I’m looking forward to playing this course again when I return to the area next summer.
Lost Spur Golf & Event Center
Played On 06/25/2019Beautiful View, Best Shape
Course was in very good shape - the best shape of any course I’ve played at this year in the Twin Cities. Most courses are still very wet and some even have temporary holes since the greens are too wet to play on. Lost Spur was pretty dry, there were a few wet areas but not many. In a few places it appeared that motorized carts had done some damage to the fairways. But, in total, the course was in good shape. The course is situated in a higher area providing beautiful views of the river below. Another reason why the course isn’t too wet - water can drain off the course to the river area. The course isn’t long but has challenging and interesting holes. I especially enjoyed the elevated tee holes!
Boulder City Municipal Golf Course
Played On 05/16/2019Windy Day on the Course
The course has a very nice driving range which we used before golfing - $6 for 80 balls was a good deal. The course was nice and maintained well. Enjoyed the large spacious fairways. There were some challenging greens with rolling surfaces and false fronts. There was one group of two and a single player in front of us. The pace of play seemed to be fine until the single player joined the twosome. I’m not sure what the issue was but they got very slow and appeared to be doing a lot of talking - could have even been an argument. Lots of arm waving around and no one playing golf. They took forever to tee off on a Par 3 hole. Then they stood on the fairway and “discussed” something while we sat in the cart waiting to tee off. We finally decided to go around them and just not play that hole since they weren’t moving. At one point we noticed we were two holes ahead of them but after the front nine we never saw them again. I wish there was a way to have moved them along. I know it is a minor issue but I paid to play all 18 holes and only got to play 17. It was an extremely windy day as well but that added to the challenge nothing the course management could control.
Date Palm Country Club
Played On 05/11/2019Challenging Water
Enjoy playing this course. It is a fun and challenging executive course with water on many of the par 3s. The fairways and greens are well taken care of and the trees add much needed shade on warm Palm Springs days. The course is good for beginners and seasoned golfers especially to work on the short game. We will return to this course in the future!
General Old Golf Course
Played On 04/20/2019Great Value
The course was fun and challenging. It was in pretty good condition and a great value. My husband and I would certainly play the course again. Our only issue was a twosome in front of us who were slow. They seemed to be more interested in visiting, listening to music and having fun than in playing golf. They always waited for the group in front of them to exit the green before they would tee off - even though there was no way they were going to hit far enough to be in their way. Wish there was a Marshall to monitor play like this. My husband and I asked the twosome behind us if they wanted to join us and they did. If not, it would have taken them a long time to play 18 holes. At one point one of the players who joined us talked with the slow twosome and asked politely if they could play faster and/or join the twosome in front of them. They did appear to speed up their game on the back 9.

The course is in very good shape considering the terrible flooding in Palm Springs in February. The staff has worked very hard to clean up the damage. The starter explained a few areas that might be hazardous due to water and sand which was nice to do. None of these areas were issues for us and didn’t disturb our game. The greens were in great shape!
Cimarron Golf Club - Pebble Par-3 Course
Played On 01/31/2019Favorite Par 3 Course
My husband and I always enjoy playing the Pebble Course at Cimarron. It is a great course to work on one’s short game and putting. The fairways and greens are in very good shape. The staff is friendly and helpful. The course can be windy so be prepared - it can be calm early and then become very windy in the afternoon. The temperature can drop as well as the wind picks up. We will play the course again in the future!

The course was in very good shape both Fairways and Greens. My husband and I enjoyed the wide open but rolling fairways. I’m a relatively new golfer and found the course challenging but not to the point that I became frustrated. My husband has golfed for many years but still found challenges on the course. The staff was nice and the starter let us out early as a two some. The pace of play was slow. There was a very slow four some in front of us. We had to wait for them to move down the course on most holes since they didn’t appear to drive very far - especially off the tee. We never saw a ranger checking on the pace of play. We were only able to play 12 holes before the sun set behind the mountains and it was soon going to be too dark to continue. We will play this course again and hope the pace of play is quicker.

The course was in excellent shape. It is a challenging course but not too much for a beginner golfer like me. Interesting hole placements on the greens. It was a cold and windy day. I look forward to playing this course on a warmer day!
Desert Dunes Golf Course
Played On 12/31/2018Cold and Windy Golf Day
Cold and windy so we only played 9 holes. The course was in pretty good shape overall. It is an interesting course with lots of undulations on the fairways and greens. Unfortunately, I found myself in the bunkers a great of the time - there are a lot of them. My husband enjoyed the course as well - he is a much better golfer than I am. We would like to play the course again on a warmer day!
Bay View Golf Course
Played On 12/09/2018Beautiful Bay View
Enjoyed playing this course very much. We were glad that it was a short course but it was still challenging. Just enough water for us. Appreciated that there weren’t any sand traps! The back 9 is more challenging than the front 9 and appeared to be in better condition as well. We will play this course again when we return to Honolulu.

Love playing this course. Great to practice the short game. The trees were beautiful and the course is well maintained.
Lincoln Park Golf Course
Played On 09/12/2018Good Value, Excellent View
The course is in moderately good shape. The grass is long so I had trouble on some holes distinguishing between the fairway and the rough. The course is rolling and provides a good walking workout! I like how the course winds around the hills through neighborhoods and park areas. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the 17th tee box is wonderful-especially on a sunny day!! With all the rolling hills the course provided a good challenge and was a good value. There were times we weren’t sure which way to go to get to the next tee box - more signage would be nice. At one point, a car was blocking the cart pathway (we rented a cart rather than walk). This was by the Legion of Honor. The person in the car was on her phone and was very rude when we asked her to move out of the way. There wasn’t any other way for us to go. She had many empty parking spots to choose from which is where she moved to. One does have to watch out for traffic since the course crosses over roads and parking areas.
The Palms Golf Club At Forest Lakes
Played On 04/17/2018Fast Greens
Enjoy playing this course whenever we are in the area. The fairways were fast and dry. Hope Florida gets rain soon, the fairways and greens are dry. The greens were also fast and have a lot of up and down contours which make them interesting. The course is challenging for my husband who is a good golfer but not too hard for me, a beginner.
