Glen Ivy Golf Club
Played On 05/04/2018Slow pace but nice course
Great staff but we played in over five hours on s Friday. Too slow. Course is in good shape and great big greens in top shape. I just don’t like the courses that are this hilly with some hole designs on the ridiculous side. Lots of blind shots and tight shots.

Played On 04/09/2018Very nice public course
I played in a Monday and got off early Well before my tee off time. Finished in three and a half hours. Solid course layout. Nice greens in good shape even though they were punched a week ago. Lots of maintenance activity at the course which is good. Played from the blues and it was a fair challenge for a low handicapper. I’ll definitely be back. Good value for the money. All thumbs up here. They have a nice double decker driving range. Only complaint was no water on the course.
Talega Golf Club
Played On 03/23/2018Tales great track still needs some care
Great layout, very challenging from the blues, pace of play waste just over 4 hours on a Friday at Noon, and greens were in good condition but not fast and should have been rolled or cut sooner. Fairways were tight but good. The course needs some TLC in some areas but they were not distracting. Tee to green is good for winter conditions. Interesting and varied layout with directional placement critical. Some traps are getting new sand. The owner here is obviously watching pennies and that is too bad as in prior years, this course was in much better condition. They could use a professional greens keeper and could turn back on some of the great waterfall features that are off now to save money. I'll be back as this is a challenging golf course, and in very good conditions on the greens and average on the fairways. It's in the OC as well so location is a big plus here. Enjoy, I'll be back as this was good value for the money
Green River Golf Club
Played On 08/13/2017Dissapointed. Bring back the old Green River!!!
First, the course is in barely fair condition. Several fairways were being redone and almost unplayable. Two had half the fairway roped off. Most greens were in good shape but several had fungus and issues. Pace of play was very slow at 5 and a half hours. No course management and fivesomes were out there plodding away interspersed with tournaments. I miss the old green river with 27 holes. There was rhythm and continuity in the layout back then. Now there is none and the course is a hodgepodge. Many areas are hard pan and hardly playable. Definitely not worth the money. Many course areas are just not kept up or neglected like the dirt roads between holes with potholes etc. I was routing for Green River after not playing it for ten years but for $50 it's at least over priced by 40%. Still disappointed and I used to be a fan.
Thanks for joining us. Friday and Saturdays are our highest pace challenges due to the amount of players. I have made it a priority with the staff to watch and be aware of the pace. The course is very dramatic especially on the back nine as it is carved into the canyons, it does add a lot of character.
