Course is in great shale

Greens were pure, customer service was great, and layout is challenging (tips 7500+).

Even if you’re a single digit handicapped bring a extra sleeve - but this course is awesome amd worth it.

Must play to improve your game or get most out of it

Dogleg rights, dogleg lefts, properly placed bunkers, and plenty of water (saw 3 4-8 ft gators by hole 8).

This course has it all, risk/reward parts, an amazing layout, and an awesome and friendly staff.

Rude, disrespectful, and awful customer service

First of all - I won't comment on the conditions. I'm a member at Crofton Country Club and play 2-3 times a week there and many other places in the area. Literally every course in the area has their issues end of summer/early fall and you can't make any course perfect that has players play daily in this area. Not this time of year. That's fine.

The reason I booked Renditions is this weekend is there's member guest at Crofton Country Club this weekend (starting today with their practice round), so it was closed as I'm not attending member guest this year as I'm traveling for work starting tomorrow.

I wanted to see Renditions. I've heard mixed reviews but I've played basically every other course in the area and I had some time this afternoon. Plus, I book a 24 person group even over 3 days with other members at Crofton Country Club in late October each year (we play 3 different courses locally over 3 days), and was thinking maybe Renditions would be a good one to have this year.

Well, after my experience I wish I didn't come today and I definitely won't book our group here.

Here's what happened/the story. I booked a 4:10 tee time and arrived 15 or so minutes early. Checked in. Cart girl was very nice. Seemed like a good start. No issues at all. Tee'd off at our starting time.

However, GPS in the cart stopped working at hole 3. Each time I pressed it nothing would happen. It stayed on the hole 3 overview until I believe hole 11. Again, this is fine and not a big deal. I have a range finder and I even bought the course book for the layout. However, I got a notification that said (sunset at 7:10 - have carts in by 6:55) once the GPS started working again on hole 11... which was at 6:10 pm. So after being on the 11th hole in just 2 hours at a public course they send that out with no heads up.

I got no information/heads up that carts had to be in by 6:55 until after the 11th hole on the GPS screen in the cart. The pop up on the website home page doesn't say it. When I checked in nothing was said. When I went to show my starting receipt and got my cart nothing was said.

It's literally IMPOSSIBLE to be done in 2 hrs and 45 minutes for 18 holes - especially in the rain on a public course. So why do they make tee times available for 18 holes past 4 pm and charge you for 18 holes? Then at 6pm say "get carts in by 6:55"?

Even that was something I could ignore and be okay with. I thought maybe there was earlier reminders but since my cart table/GPS was locked up maybe I didn't see it. Who knows.

Here's the kicker and the reason I'm leaving my first 1 star review ever on this site. It's because when we returned the carts a little after 7 pm (3 hours after our tee time) the guy comes up and goes "did you not see the notifications/why weren't you in by 7pm" and before I could answer he stormed off after saying that in a rude way. I wanted to respond with "why in the heck are you booking people 18 holes at 4pm, throwing them in a group with same tee time, then after their round is going tell them to be in by 6:55?". It is IMPOSSIBLE for any twosome in wide open conditions to play 18 holes in 2 hrs and 45 minutes. They should of never even made the tee times available if that's how they do business.

It was completely frustrating, rude, and I'll never recommend this course to anyone at CCC or friends. I've never had someone be that rude to me when THEIR SYSTEM AND THEIR OPERATIONS provide IMPOSSIBLE expectations... and then when people can't play 18 in 2 hrs and 45 minutes they become very rude to you/basically make you feel like you're the a-hole.

Oak Creek, Lake Presidential, and many others are much better b/c of the customer service, staff members there, etc. I never leave 1 star reviews - but this place deserved it. It's a deserved first 1 star review for me.

I will say the cart girl apologized after the guy stormed off being rude and she didn't even take a tip. She was very nice.

If you are thinking of even booking a 2pm or 2:30 tee time here, don't do it. It's not worth it. They'll GLADLY take your money for 18 holes, and then when you don't finish a 18 hole round in under 3 hours they'll be extremely rude, unprofessional, and mean - when it's their own system/their own booking that's at fault.

It is what it is - staff is awesome

I'm giving 5 stars because it's local and the people there are friendly/they're doing what they can.

I play a ton and am a member at Crofton Country Club - so on Mondays when the club is closed - or we just want to play something different - Walden is local, has carts that move well and pretty good, and has strategic holes. It's a course if you shoot well you can do amazing - and also shoot vey high if you're off your game.

I like it just b/c It's something different in the area. There's nothing like this layout - and the people/staff is why I give it 5 stars.

Amazing course

Drove about an hour when I was traveling to OH for this course. Family lives in OH and I travel quite a few times.

What an amazing experience it was. The staff was kind. The course was awesome. The people were very friendly. 10/10 for sure. It's a must play if you're in the Norther KY/Cincy area (and even further if you don't mind driving for an awesome course!)

Pin locations are a joke

I was traveling to OH (which I do many times a year). I have family there so we all went (my two brothers and my father) to go play this course. We are all pretty decent players (10 or so handicap) and play 50-100 times a year. We played on Sunday the 23rd and I've never in my life seen worse pin locations. They literally made the course not fun at all.

Every (and I mean every) pin was 3-5 feet towards some end of green and at the end of an up and down slope - or wherever the hardest spot was. A few of those a round is fine. That's challenging and makes some holes interesting. EVERY hole just makes it not fun at all.

For example, if you're 100 yards out and hit a perfect wedge shot and you're either going to be 10-20 feet short (where you have to do an up and down putt - and even if you make a great roll you're rolling off green) - and nothing you can do about it. I was thinking maybe they just start it out that way but by about the 5th or 6th hole it become extremely frustrating/made us dislike the round a lot. Not fun to play at all. The course literally had ZERO middle pin locations and every single pin location was in the most difficult spot of the green. This is a public golf course and we played on the weekend. No excuse for that (thank you for making my handicap go up at least I guess)......

When I travel my brothers and I play probably 20 rounds a year in the Cincy area. We won't play this course again. There's a course nearby that is way more normal, challenging, and rewarding if you play good golf. I did like that this course had a pretty good layout/some interesting holes (where you have to be strategic), but then it is immediately ruined by having the most dumb pin locations I've ever seen over a 18 hole course.

This is how you run a public golf course

I'm a member at Crofton Country Club (As was the person I golfed with).

It's in amazing condition - but the people were what was amazing. When I had my assistant book on this site I guess she hit 1 golfer b/c she didn't realize you can make reservations for both people (after discussing with her I realized it was my fault I didn't tell her to book for two people).

They were completely booked up - but they worked with me and got me on the course. We are pretty decent players and play fast, but we understand how important pace of play is and how important/tough it can be to manage a public course when things are booked/who knows who is playing.

The staff was incredible. They added us to another group and we played a round in average time - but them being so accommodating and working to figure out a way for us to play b/c of a screw up that was technically my fault made the place so enjoyable.

I play a lot of local courses too and this condition is in amazing shape - which is so hard to do in August. Will always be happy to play here.

Great challenging course

It's a reward/risk course. I love it.

Staff is always friendly, accommodating, and actually cares. That's important.

I'm a member at Crofton Country Club so I golf quite a bit - but every once in awhile It's nice to go play a local course.

This is one of the top ones in area for sure. Always a pleasure.
