Primm Valley Golf Club - Desert Course
Played On 01/18/2020Golf paradise
Two great, but distinct golf courses. The new owners have done a great job getting the greens back, they are consistent and fast. Looking forward to many more rounds here.
Citrus Springs Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/31/2019A Great Course Ruined
I have been playing this course since I was 15 years old. It is truly one of the great layouts in the area. I remember playing junior tournaments here, the course was great. Since the current owners have taken over they have run this place, as well as their sister course Silver Springs Shores (best layout in Marion Co.), into the ground. The greens are cut at different levels and terrible, the fairways are nothing more than large patches of dirt. Quite sad, a great golf course, no longer...thanks to the owners, who clearly take no pride in their establishment.
Los Lagos Golf Club
Played On 10/05/2019Over priced
For 50 dollars I expected better conditions. Greens were horrible and slow, rough areas around green were dirt patches with little turf, making it impossible to get up and down. If you're gonna spend that much might as well go to Laughlin Ranch.
Mangrove Bay Golf Course
Played On 07/06/2017Temporary greens, rude staff, no ice in the heat of summer
We enjoy this layout, haven't played here in years. After checking in at the shop we drive to the starter shack to meet a very rude employee, who offers no "hello" or anything of the sort. I then try to buy beers and ask for a cooler with ice. The employee states that they don't have coolers and ice. I find this hard to believe considering it's 96 degrees outside...and also the fact that this will be the first golf course I have ever played at that doesn't offer paying customers ice in the heat of summer. The icing on the cake was next....drove up to the 1st green to discover that all greens are temporary greens, something NOBODY in the shop or the starter shack thought worth mentioning. I will not be coming back here, temporary greens or not.
Boulder Creek Golf Club - Coyote Run/Eldorado Valley
Played On 10/17/2016One of the best values around
Three very cool layouts, good balance of risk/reward holes, greens were fantastic
Black Mountain Golf & Country Club - Founders/Desert Course
Played On 09/25/2015Call pro shop beforehand...
Good classic layout, course was in nice shape. All that goes out the window when you are waiting 10 mns to hit every shot. They were putting singles out in between a men's league and a tournament. Course should have been closed to public play. I gave up after hole 13.
Las Vegas National Golf Course
Played On 02/23/2013Classic, but challenging
This course is one of the few classic-style golf courses in Las Vegas. After playing desert courses with cookie-cutter neighborhoods throughout the city, most of them without much character, it was very refreshing to play a course where every tee shot and fairway shot required strategy. The course isn't particularly long, but it is tight and has plenty of water hazards. The greens are almost always terraced away from the fairway, with deep bunkers specifically placed in every fairway and near every green. This makes scrambling a challenge as well. The course has great character!
Desperado/Diablo at Badlands Golf Club
Played On 1/20/2013Unique course, but expect to wait
I played in a three some and we had a two some in front of us, with a five some in front of them. After waiting 5+ minutes to hit every single shot, we called the pro shop to tell them about the five some and they were completely indifferent. They also went so far as to say that they allow five somes (which I know is not true because I have worked in the golf industry for 6+ years). They didn't even bother to send a ranger to speed up pace of play. The two some in front of us started hitting 9-10 balls, thus making us wait even longer to hit a shot. The pro shop handled the situation in the most unprofessional way possible, which is unfortunate considering the golf course is fun and uniquely challenging.
Pine Barrens at World Woods Golf Club
Played On 01/06/2013One of the best in FL!
Both the Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks courses are truly unique designs by Tom Fazio. The course is interestingly challenging, but still fair. The serene natural beauty and quiet makes this facility almost like noneother in FL! Well worth a long drive! No houses, roads, or noise on this course...just pure golf.
