Played On 05/05/2022Beware the greens
Course is in good shape. You’d better be on in regulation to par the hole. Greens are a bit tricky.

What a great track! The nines definitely have different feels and view and I found that a very nice twist. I look real forward to playing SCCC again when the summer grass fills in.
West at Grandover Resort
Played On 12/02/2021Real treat
After playing so many munis in the triad we decided to try Grandover. What a treat! Everything was great. The course is very nice, with large greens that are in great shape. The practice area in the nicest around. The staff were very nice and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

Played On 09/12/2021Spectacular views! (Yardage book mandatory for 1st-timers!!!!!!!)
Views are truly incredible! Staff is friendly. Course is in great shape. It was our first time playing OB and by the third hole we realized we desperately needed a yardage book because of the blind shots. Pro shop was out. We lost count of how many holes we had to ride up to be sure we wouldn’t hit into the group in front. We got hit into three times. My point is not to degrade the course -the course is excellent and in great shape!- but to convey the VERY importance of knowing where to hit and when to lay up. I can personally assure you you’ll score several strokes better and save a few balls.
Great course! We’ll play again….with a yardage book! :)

Played On 09/03/2021Greens are HORRIBLE!
From a distance the course looks great. Once on the greens you’ll see they’re absolutely horrible! There’s no possible way they’ve been rolled this week. And with steady, constant play you can just try to imagine how pitted up they are. And now add that to almost fairway length grass and you can imagine how delighted we were to get out of there. Very disappointing. We’ve love those course the previous times we’ve played. Not this time. And it’ll be a loooooong time before we return.

Played On 04/15/2021Diabolical!
Mike Strantz will live forever on this beautifully wicked course. No matter how many times I play I am awed by the views and the requirement of challenging shots. Amazing. Each time I approach the first tee with renewed confidence, yet meekly walk off the 18th green with a humble tip of the cap to Mike. Got me again. But what a pleasure. Thanks Mike. And thanks THFC!!!

Played On 12/30/2020Exceptional
All things considered ( winter, unbelievable amount of rain in the last month, rolling terrain, etc.), Tot Hill is in wonderful shape. We were delighted to find that the fairways played true and were not matted down due to several inches of rain recently. Tee boxes looked good. And greens were cut tight and well-rolled, stemping nicely around 11-12. We finished in 4.5 hours, which a very good pace for this course. We highly recommend!

Played On 05/18/2020Sweet magnanimosity!!
Lovely round at Tot’s Hill today. Did I score my best? No. Did I try to sponge the scenery and diabolical layout of the master designer who is Mike Strantz? Oh, heck and mercy yeah!! I dare you to play Tot’s Hill. You’ll love it to the point of craving another round...if you play smart. And for crying out loud, don’t be shy or ashamed of taking several selfies on this wonderfully scenic course. Far to incredulous not to have pics to memorialize...until you can hurry back. :-)

TH is in great shape and ready for summer play. Don’t miss your opportunity to play the best course in this area. Just do yourself a grand favor and play smart. Any negative reviews you see about TH layout are folks who don’t play smart. Be smart.

JPGC is in real good shape. It’s especially nice for the GN price.
Jamestown Park Golf Course
Played On 07/03/2018Nice course in excellent shape!
Thoroughly enjoyed our first round at Jamestown. The course is in great shape and the greens roll true. There are several shots that local knowledge would’ve been real helpful on, but we fully intend to return enough times to figure it out. :-)
Rivers Edge Golf Club
Played On 05/23/2016Play smart!
The course was in great shape with the exception of one green. The layout is tricky for a first timer so you may find it beneficial to play to yardages and lay ups. Read the winds and pray on most all short shots and par 3's. Putts are almost all strait and slow so scoring on greens should come easy. Several hole are postcard beautiful and yield great spots for group pics. Play smart, enjoy the scenery, consider taking more than one ball, and have a very memorable round of golf.
Thank you for your review and feedback! We will address the condition of the green internally. Otherwise, we are happy to have provided you with a memorable round of golf!
Brookwood Golf Course
Played On 07/16/2015Great country course
This is. not Pinehurst. That said, this a great course to tune your game and have a great round with friends. The greens are in excellent shape. The fairways are full and green, made up of a wide variety of grasses. There is not a bunker on the course. The fairways are wide and tee balls can frequently be played into a parallel fairway. So gather your pals and enjoy a fun round of golf!
The Pearl Golf Links - West Course
Played On 06/30/2015Deceitful description.
What you first need to know, assuming you haven't played Pearl West and are intrigued by the "links" description, is that it is not at all a links course. It is simply a wide open course. The greens are in great shape but they are extremely slow for what a links course would offer. The fairways are wide open with an occasional bunker or dogleg, but they clearly hadn't been mowed in three or four days making them far too slow for a links design. Pearl West is a real nice, wide open golf course. But if, like our group, you get excited about the opportunity to play a links-style course, please make your reservation elsewhere. You will be sorely disappointed with Pearl West.

Played On 03/20/2015Aeration!!!
Nice course but when they tell you they've aerated you'd better take a rake for the greens. I've never seen so much sand on greens. May try to play it again to get a better perception.
Winding Creek Golf Club
Played On 01/29/2015Deceivingly open tempter
This course is a great layout with several tempting tee shots. Play it smart and you should score well. Yield to temptation and could log your best score ever, OR you could be buying lunch for the rest of your group. Fun course. Love the twists and turns and elevation changes. We'll definitely be back.

Greens are excellent. This is a great course. That is, it's a great course if you've played it before or you're playing with someone who has. There are numerous blind shots, which is bad enough on a first-play course, but when they're busy (as they were when I played it) you either have to wait extra time, ride up to see if it's clear (as I did on at least 1/3 of the holes), or gamble on hitting someone. That's not my idea of a fun round. For a local this is a GREAT course. For a visitor who's never played it before, I'd recommend venturing elsewhere. Oh, and I played it pretty well (in case you may think I'm down on it because of a poor score). As a single, I typically play in 2.25-2.5 hours. This round took 4.5!!! Not cool.
Oak Hollow Golf Course
Played On 12/04/2014Play it smart!
Oak Hollow is a Pete Dye gem. Play it smart or it will burn you. Many of the fairways roll from one side to the other and a few are pretty severe. Also, many of the holes run along, or up to, Oak Hollow Lake, providing very scenic views. This yields to some tempting shots that may not be advisable. Greens are in great shape. Fairways are also, but winter dormancy has them practically white. For quicker play you might consider a colored ball. Final advice: as stated in title, play it smart; I lost a couple of strokes to temptation as I flirted with doglegs and treelines that looked crossable. Play it the way Pete intended and you'll love your score as much as the course!
Blair Park Golf Course
Played On 11/07/2014Pleasantly surprised
Temp: mid-50's
Wind: 15-20 mph
Leaves swirling, as you'd assume this time of year.
Conditions established, we had a great first experience at Blair Park. The layout is open, with creeks and drainage ditches dissecting the fairways. Greens are in great shape, tho you may need to clean your line due to seasonal leaves. If there were a negative, players should know there are power lines thruout. One of our group hit one, but no other issues. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. When we told them this was our first visit, they were eager to share very helpful course info, so don't be afraid to ask.
We will def go back...soon.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We are happy to see you had a great experience. We hope to see you again soon!
