Glad to have survived

Course was OK overall but fairways & greens could use some better care, water, etc.
Too easy to lose a ball right or left cause almost anything off center finds extra run & like a lot of Fl courses all fairways fall off to the side.
Biggest problem? NO WATER for golfers. Cart service? NOPE.
That ok, get something at the turn, right? No service or clubhouse at #10. UNBELIEVEABLE for. Fl course to not have cart service or water. C’mon guys!

Wet & Soft

As an early morning player,. Bent Tree does present challenges. The greens and approaches to elevated greens require you to hit the right club due to wet & soft conditions. Greens are in almost exclusively good to excellent but in addition to being elevated, the greens are a bit "Donald Ross-like" in that they are a bit bowl-like, i.e. balls will roll off to one side or another often. In some cases (e.g. #15) it is very, very difficult to have a ball stop on the elevated par 3 green, which is a major hurdle.
A sound challenge overall but the management company could do more to upgrade the fairways & dead spots.

Breezy & Cold

Course was in good shape though cold weather (40's) and wind (15-20 mph) made it a challenging experience.
Greens were in excellent shape and rolled true but were noticeably on the smaller side, i.e. tough to hit a green and have it stick from almost any location.

Excellent Value with solid challenges

Bent Tree is a thoroughly enjoyable course. It’s not a high - end resort type course with the associated prices. It offers more than adequate challenges for the average golfer who is interested in golf and not trying to impress others with how much money he spent playing golf. Will return again and again.
An additional benefit is that breakfast & lunch are included in the price. Again, nothing too fancy but good solid food, prepared fresh every day and a completely adequate 19 Th hole experience.

Tough But Fair

Lakewood National is a great value if you pay attention to the pricing options. Can be one of the higher priced course around or one of the best values. The course has multiple te options allowing one to play anywhere from 5700 yards or so to over 7000 yards.
Greens tend to be large, undulating and quick. Plenty of hazards to avoid but fairways are quite wide and accepting though not many flat lies and often the ball will run to one side or the other which demands attention to lay of the land.

A solid golf experience. Plenty of challenge with typical Florida wind creating some additional difficulties at times. Interesting layout with lots of water and some carries over hazards to avoid.
Staff were most helpful in assisting us with the selection of a course to play later in the week.
Course was a bit difficult to find even with car GPS and some road construction causing delay.
Pace of play was good and we rarely saw other golfers as things moved along
