Paganica Golf Course
Played On 05/22/2017Nice surprise!
First time visiting this course and very pleasant surprise. Very nice tree lined fairways. Lots of trees but only a couple of holes where trees are real challenges to get to the green. Tee boxes, fairways were very good compared to some comparable priced courses. 1st and 2nd cut roughs were really forgiving and hitting out of them went very well.....no snarly, long grasses, weed infested roughs were encountered. There were a couple of fairways that were water logged but what course doesn't have them this spring.
Definitely plan to revisit and recommend for others to try. Very accessible from I-94.
Deer Valley Golf Course - Ridge
Played On 05/06/2017Good challenge
Deer Valley is a very scenic golf course that will offer some very unique challenges to any golfer at any of the tee boxes. The vistas from the top of numerous hills is equaled by the views from the base of the valleys. A must to play at least once to enjoy the play and the view. This would not be a course to play without a riding cart unless you like the challenge of mountain climbing. Staff was good and there is a snack bar/clubhouse.
Prairie Woods Golf Course
Played On 09/08/2016Love this course
Conditions were excellent with well maintained greens, fairways, roughs, equipment and facilities. White tees very suitable for seniors and made for duffers with natural slice. Price was excellent thru GolfNow. Staff provided good service and were exceptionally gracious in the clubhouse. Those in kitchen even bid us farewell from their location as we were leaving. Food and drinks very good at fair price. Definitely recommend to others and planning to return before the season ends.
Kestrel Ridge Golf Club
Played On 06/19/2015Good course for practice rounds
Play here often to just get in a round at the last minute.
Usually able to get good rates and course not very busy. If it is busy, the patrons are usually gracious about allowing someone to play through but not on this day. This is very unusual of this course. Of the 4 or 5 groups I caught up to, only one older gentlemen with two younger boys offered to let me play through. The others just kept on playing even when they looked back and saw me sitting there waiting for them to find their lost balls or finish on the tee box.
Will continue to play here but will be more careful about asking about number of groups out at the time I will play. This was a beautiful, early p.m., Friday so do understand how this could be with large number of players but surprised by the lack of etiquette..
Cold Water Canyon Golf Course at Chula Vista Resort
Played On 9/27/2013Short yardage course with challenging hazards
Coldwater Canyon Golf Club is a private club that primarily caters to resort cliente. The course yardage is shorter than most that I play on a regular basis but has an interesting mix of challenges. Black tees were less than 5700 yards which might be less than White tees at many other courses. Par threes are sometimes longer w/ strategically placed trees, dips, roughs, etc. that make it challenging when not landing on the green on the drive. Course was well maintained and the cart path was easy to navigate to follow the holes through the 18 holes. GolfNow price was well worth the time to drive to the course for playing there the first time.
Horicon Hills Golf Club
Played On 9/6/2013Great Golf Course in beautiful settings.
Drove 45 minutes from Sun Prairie area to play the course for such a great price off of GolfNow ($31.65 for two w/cart). There are many other courses closer to my home w/ similar pricing on GolfNow, but they cannot compare, even with the drive. RRH is located along the Horicon Marsh and many holes are located in pristine areas along the marsh. The views are terrific and one will find many sightings of our feathered friends commonly found in the Marsh. Course is well maintained w/ fairways, tees and greens well maintained. The challenges vary from flat fairways, rolling hills and raised fairways to flat and elevated greens as well as a 165 yd par 3 that sharply drops fifty feet below the tee. Short roughs were dry and hard but balls easy to locate. If you like surroundings with water, not necessarily hazards, this is a good place.
Lake Windsor Country Club
Played On 8/9/2013Good variety of challenges
Trees, water and elevation obstacles are found often enough to keep a golfer alert. They have been elevating the fairways to reduce some of the wet areas and are doing a good job. Front nine rather easy compared to rating but back nine might be more difficult than its rating.
Woods Golf Course at Pleasant View Golf Club
Played On 7/25/2013Great course with 27 holes. Hilly course but not all holes. Good variety of challenges.
Play here at least a couple of times each year and this is the first time I encountered slow play. Not sure what might have caused it but it appeared to be busier than other times. A ranger on the course might have helped move play along. It appeared that a couple of groups on different courses slowed up the rest. The clubhouse was good about switching the courses we played but it did not help speed up play.
Reedsburg Country Club
Played On 9/21/2012Like playing at Reedsburg a couple of times a year because it has a lot of variety.
The greens are tough because usually appear to be very fast but I have been told that this is how greens are suppose to be (probably if you're a good golfer). Beautiful surroundings with "lots of trees" with enough water holes to keep you attentive.
