Very friendly and rather good course

This course is close to home. I'm glad it's open to the public, and is in as good shape as any of the muni's. It's a little shorter but challenging with the reward found in the fairway. The only knock I have is some larger groups of inexperienced players can slow things down. We just drive around and keep on going. But really a good value.

The Links at Norman is friendly and fun!

Just played on a nice mild December day. As usual the staff is friendly and the course in good shape. The greens are small so your chipping and pitching are at play more, but the holes are very playable.

What happened to Coffee Creek?

Well it has been about two years since I drove up to Coffee Creek to play. I heard last year that they replaced the greens and they looked great. I always thought it was a nice course with fairly good greens.

I don't know what happened, but the greens are terribly diseased or dead, and the fairways are just fair. The staff was friendly, the cart path in good shape, but playing it was really difficult. I'm shocked actually - and this explains why Coffee Creek is showing up on the Hot Deals again.

Check before playing - this was really disappointing.

Wasn't expecting much, and that's about right.

Ok, I was able to get a great hot deal on this tee time. The course was really bad, the fairways were rough and not really any grass variety, more just a mowed weed bed. There were areas that were cracked from drying that literally would eat a golf ball. It simply needs an infusion of money, which in today's economy is unlikely. The staff was really friendly, and the snacks / drinks are very reasonably priced.

This course never disappoints

First off, remember what you're paying to play here. This course is always a good value, with consistently good pace of play and reliable conditions. The greens are small and slower than most, but maintained and healthy. We are in a drought in Oklahoma so the fairways run out and have alot of tight lies, so take the good with the bad. There's a variety of uphill and down tee shots, and greens that really penalize a very wayward shot. I look at it as a great, friendly course that will hone your game for not alot of money. While you are in town, try the DIXIE diner on 23rd street (nearby), we did for the first time and their food is good and wallet friendly.

Let me introduce you to my hometown course...

I enjoy playing my hometown course, which I rated as easy because moderately errant shots still have possibility. You start with an easy par 5, and a short par three to build some confidence. But it's not a cupcake, and most every hole long is bad. I guess what I like most is that since moving to Oklahoma 7 years ago I have seen this course get progressively better. It's well managed, with the friendliest staff. When you come back the guys at the proshop will at least recognise you, and start working on remembering your name. They are exceptional. The greens and fairways have really gotten to be quite good, probably the best of the moderately priced courses. And green fees are good all day! Oh, by the way... 18 is a par 4 that you can't quit on early - a really big number is possible there.

I was pleasantly surprised with Surrey Hills

I had heard a few negative comments about this course. I played it first with a friend, and liked it (but not how I played), and took my wife back for another outing. Again the conditions of the course were quite good for it's price range. I enjoy sloping terrain and greens with some character, and this course has it. I would recommend checking with the course to see if they are busy. The day I took my wife it was backed up with what appeared to be a residents day with alot of fivesomes. That was excruciatingly slow play. I will be going back. Just don't expect to be met with alot of joy at the clubhouse when you payed online with GolfNow.
