Meadows Golf Club
Played On 05/16/2021Aerated greens and rough teeboxes
A great day for golf and the pace of play was excellent considering it looked like the tee sheet was full. On the course, conditions were decent in the fairways but the teeboxes continue to be in bad shape and the aerated greens made putting troublesome. A few putts during our round were going straight, hit an aeration hole and took a hard jump offline. My one big hangup with Meadows is there are very few yardage markers on the course itself. You can sometimes find the 100, 150 and 200 colored blocks in the fairway but I couldn't find them on several holes. Having a few yardages marked on sprinkler heads would really help. If you have a range finder or watch or other distance gadgets, you'll be fine.
Meadows Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2020Solid course, fun layout
Meadows is a fun track that is not terribly long and has some challenging holes. It really helped to play with some folks that had played here before, so they were able to guide me around all the water. I hit a 5 wood off the tee on a lot of the short par 4s and had a nice shot into greens, but you could also try and drive the green on a bunch of the par 4s. Course conditions were a mixed bag: Tee boxes were really rough all over (but I've noticed that on a lot of Jersey courses this season), fairways were reasonably good but had some rough patches that were under repair, and greens were overall well maintained save for the high number of unrepaired ball marks (which you kindof expect at a public course). Overall it was well worth it, and I am glad I got out here.

Played On 09/19/2020Great course, amazing views
Greens and fairways were in excellent shape but the tee boxes were really beaten up. Some extremely tricky and tough holes on this course (number 4, which is a par five, is extremely tricky). It probably helps to play with someone who has played here before so you have some idea of how to play a lot of these holes. No one in my group had played here before and there was a lot of guessing on blind shots -- definitely would've helped to have someone to guide us a little. Really stunning views on multiple holes. From the tee boxes on 9 and 18, you can see all the way to the Poconos and the Delaware Water Gap.
SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
Played On 1/20/2013Great Greens considering the drought
I live about five minutes from this course and it has been pretty dry in Texas this year. The greens at Silverhorn were well kept and rolled quick and smooth, which is all you can really ask for.
Fairways were well maintained, so even though the grass was dried out you had good lie in the short grass.
We would definitely play there again and hopefully we get some rain to help green-up the course.
