The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club
Played On 07/17/2021Still thirsty, a day later
While the course conditions were admittedly better than they were 2 years ago, that’s a bit of a low bar. That said, there was a still a number of things to be disappointed in....
- the sand (or should I say dirt) in the bunkers is poor.
- lots of dried mowed grass laying over the grass in the rough. Not a good look at all.
- on one of the hottest days of the year, there’s absolutely no water on the course. We saw the beverage cart only once (and only a half a hole from the turn, at that) all round. To say I was parched for most of the round was an understatement.
- so, when finished with our round - still late in the afternoon, getting to the clubhouse to grab a drink was a welcome thought. But, all the doors were locked, and the staff were gone! Are you kidding me?
Falls Village Golf Course
Played On 03/12/2020Much better than expected
I drive past this course nearly every day, but had never thought to give this course a try. Given that the sign in front said "new greens installed", and I had a free weekday, I thought I'd give it a shot. Went out on my own, and was immediately impressed with the layout of the course. The greens were very good - new championship Bermuda. The traps and some areas of the rough were, well, rough, but the tees, fairways and greens were all in good shape for early spring.
Eagle Ridge Golf Club
Played On 09/22/2019Good value
Played in 3 hours and 45 minutes on a Sunday morning. Course is in pretty good condition. Greens were very good and rolled well. It's a good value overall for a publicly available course.

The Challenge Golf Club
Played On 06/15/2019Good course, better value
It's really a shame that this course doesn't get all the play it deserves. Despite its name, it's not going to be all that hard of a test for higher handicap golfers or women.
The course conditions were good. Fairways were in decent shape - better than some more "upscale" public courses in the area. Greens were in very good shape (despite quite a few too many unrepaired ballmarks) and rolled true. I'm not sure that they're Championship Bermuda though.
It's a fun course where you'll likely use most of your clubs. The staff could not be nicer, or more accommodating. And the price is certainly right.
Thank you for the great feedback! We love hearing from you and are glad you had a good experience. We would love the opportunity to bump those 4 stars to 5. We hope you will come back soon so we can WOW you on your next visit. Until then, take care!
