Jersey Meadow Golf Course
Played On 05/16/2021Course is terrible
Two holes were “shut down” and we were not allowed to play them due to the course being under severe construction. Additionally, a par 5 was converted to a 100 yard par three, so effectively, we lost the ability to play three holes. Also, the greens were atrocious... they were unputtable. There was no information on GolfNow about the course conditions, and the staff at the golf course did not mention anything about the course conditions.
Absolute rip-off.

Played On 10/09/2020Terrible greens and unacknowledged modified par 3...terrible
The greens at this course leave much to be desired. They are consistently inconsistent and aside from constantly being bumpy, fuzzy, and poorly maintained. They made a modified par three (attached in photos) by making an actual hole with flagstick, roughly 25 yards short of the actual green.
Abysmal at best...
Hi perimeterblack, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. However, we're sorry to hear that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we appreciate your patience & understanding with our temporary green due to replacing the sod recently. Our course also has emerald Bermuda grass, one of 3 courses to have this in Texas, and the greens have grown a little higher during this time of year. We welcome you to contact Richard Rowell, General Manager, at the course directly and he would be happy to discuss any of these concerns with you further. We hope to have you back for a better golf experience soon!

I booked a tee time to play at 1:07 in which the tee time included a cart per the GolfNow reservation. When I arrived to the pro shop to check in, the person behind the counter told me that I would need to pay an additional cart fee as the cart fee listed with my reservation wasn’t actually included (even though it clearly stated that a cart was included with my reservation). Instead of addressing the mix up and letting me have a cart, he rudely told me that it wasn’t their fault, and that GolfNow was to blame. He said that other guests have experienced the same issue but it wasn’t a problem for them and they just paid the cart fee with no fuss because to them it was “not a big deal”. I asked to speak to a head pro or director of golf and he came and rudely said, “if you want a cart you have to pay for it”. I again showed him my reservation where it clearly stated that a cart was included with my rate...
Customer service was abysmal and both people showed a tremendous lack of concern for their paying guest. I play there a lot typically, but now they’ve lost a customer.

I have been playing this golf course for nearly 4 years, and each year, the course conditions continue to progressively get worse. Greens are atrocious; they’ve been categorically lost..
This is not meant to be hyperbolic: no green is playable...there isn’t a true putting surface anywhere on the course. Ordinarily, good greens can make up for mediocre course conditions, but in this case, the greens act as a summary of course neglect.
Paying $20 for a round here is too much. I expect that the coming heat of the summer months will further destroy what is already an ignored layout. If the owners could manage to contract a legitimate SI or agronomist, then I would likely invite another round.
For now, stay away from this golf course
Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club
Played On 11/15/2016Worst Experience Yet
Sadly, my experience at Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club in Katy, TX on 11/15/16 was one of the worst that I have had. I play Meadowbrook Farms once or twice a month (and have done so for the last few months), and I have much higher expectations than what I experienced today. I booked my round through GOLFNOW.com (as per usual) and arrived at the golf course an hour early so that I could use the practice facility prior to my round. Warming up for me is critical and helps me prepare for the upcoming round. When I checked in I was told that the range was closed because it was a Tuesday. I decided to putt for a few minutes and chip however the putting green was shaggy and looked as though it had not been mowed in two weeks. The chipping green was closed and no alternative practice channels were available. I decided to just deal with it and approach the starter to see if I could tee off early. When I met with him he said, "did they tell you that the back 9 is closed today? You'll have to play the front 9 twice." Not a single person in the pro shop told me I would need to play the front twice...it was not listed on GolfNow, otherwise I would have decided to play elsewhere. I am definitely upset at the lack of communication and would like to speak with someone about redressing my issue.
Hi "perimeterblack" We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. Because of the confusion GolfNow reached out to you after this post and issued you a credit due to the misunderstanding on their part. Because of aerification the range and part of the course had to be closed for maintenance, and we apolgize that this was not mentioned at check in. We hope that you will understand and adjust your review as GolfNow apologized and issued a credit to be used for future use. Thanks MGT
We would love to hear more about your positive experience on our course. Please contact us to share with us your favorite part of your experience. Thanks for golfing at Southwyck Golf Club!
