Grandpa's Woods is an executive course with a picnic area that nestles in a little wooded valley were Native Americans used to camp next the wide creek that winds through the central of the course.
The first two holes are the only drivable holes with fairly open fairways. Next four holes are par 3 holes with all different characters from sloping greens, uphill/downhill shots, tightly tee shots, & over water shots. Hole 7- a "y" shape par 4 , 190 yards but you have to use a iron off the tee to set up a nice second shot into the green.
The grass greens are very small and difficult to get your ball to stop from beyond 125 yards out, so your short game will get a workout.

White Tees- 1608 yards
Red Tees - 1558 yards

The yardage might seem short but don't let the slopes, elevated greens and tee boxes fool you.

The course seemed to be golfer friendly, the course was in great shape for Dec. 2nd.. Great course outline to keep a player always thinking on every shot and there are many different ways to play each holes for different types of weather conditions..

From the first tee, players have to put their thinking caps on, cause you have holes where you need to lay up and holes where you need to know where to place your shots..

I booked a deal on golf now.com, I drove out there and there was only two groups on the course. I had high wind to deal with but as a new golfer, the rough was long and it was in the fall so leaves was on the fairway and greens, real easy to lose golf balls. Need to play in the summer to get a good review of the course. The front nine was on top of a hill and bottom nine is down below the hill.
