Beautiful course in a trailer park

We arrived at the course 45 minutes before tee off to warm up on the range. The range was closed with no warning or apology. The course is tight and accuracy is key. The wind is strong so controlling ball flight is important. On the down side of what is actually a lovely course, there are park homes all around the course which makes it feel a bit like a trailer park course. The gorse is thick and a ball off the fairway is probably lost on a large number of the holes. We had fun but there were definitely downsides to a £50 course.

True Championship Course

This is my favourite course in Cumbria. The grounds are always in fantastic condition. The course is well laid out with a good mixture of par 3’s, 4’s and 5’s. It has something for each different type of golfer and the setting is truly stunning. Given the choice between Eden and other courses near by there is no question in my mind that Eden comes out on top.

You need confidence and a good drive to play this course well

Pros:
It’s an exciting course, especially after hole number 5. There are blind rises on many of the holes with some pretty serious bends in the course.
The greens are amazingly well kept and consistent from one hole to the next.
Playing from evaluated tee boxes down into a valley fairway is something a bit different but a challenge and I really enjoyed it.

Cons:
The tee boxes were a bit shabby and very hard (to be fair there hasn’t been much rain)
With so many blind rises it’s hard to know exactly where you’re supposed to be aiming unless you know the course well (this was my first time playing)
The rough is deadly, if you go off the fairway you might as well drop cause it’s like a jungle either left or right of the fairway.

At the end of the day it was a great course with a lot of challenges and unique aspects that made it fun and interesting. I don’t think I would make this my best course in Cumbria but good fun for something different
