River Bend Golf Club
Played On 10/30/2015Good Layout
Owned by the City of Ormond Beach...leased to private operator. Fairways, sand bunkers & greens is good shape. A good test due to the wind swirling in the trees on approach shots. Cart paths need help. Course Marshal on #2 told us it would be slow...two foursomes @ noon held up the whole course for afternoon play...never seen the course marshal again. 2-1/2 hours on the front nine...1 hr-40 minutes after numerous players quit @ the turn.
River Bend Golf Club
Played On 10/30/2015Good Layout
Owned by the City of Ormond Beach...contracted to private operator. Good challenging layout...the wind swirls through the trees making approach shots a guess...greens & fairways above average. Cart path issues in certain areas. One foursome held up the whole course...seen course ranger on #2....then never again. 4:20 minutes to play on Friday afternoon as a twosome..

Panama Country Club
Played On 10/31/2013Fast Play Bargain
Excellent older course. Very challenging yet fair test of golf. Course played soft/long due to greens staff watering in over-seeding for the winter months.
Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course at Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club
Played On 10/25/2013Great Value
Part of state park system. Very good use of terrain, creeks & trees. Lots of false front green complexes. Could use better yardage markers. Overall a very good layout.
The Landings Golf Club - Trestle/Bluff
Played On 10/24/2013Good residential layout
Above average greens. Good routing in residential development.
Holes 14-16 not very well designed. Pitiful cart paths...broken up concrete...no wonder the members don't use them. South Georgia needs rain...this would help this course. The sand traps need work...dog tracks, members don't know how to use a rake, etc.
Black Bear Golf Course
Played On 10/22/2013Great Golf Course!
Fantastic golf & scenery! Wonderful routing & use of terrain...did not realize Louisiana was that hilly. Extremely fast & true greens. Huge bunkers...needed to be maintained after two weekends of heavy rain. I can see why Black Bear is one of the top courses in the Louisiana.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and review the course, and we apologize for any shortcomings you came across in particular with slow play. We are glad you enjoy the course and the layout and hope that you will come back soon to give us another try.
