...and the saga continues

Played 18 holes with three guys I hope I never encounter again. Issues with pace of play and etiquette all day.
One guy starts trying to give advice right away on the first hole (he's wearing cargo shorts, an untucked shirt and some golf shoes from 20 years ago that probably have the same cleats in them). He wised up on the 2nd tee and asked if I had played here before (which I have a dozen times) and kept quiet after that. The old saying applies here "The worst kind of vice is advice." It's common sense...unless you shoot par or better, just keep it to yourself.
Same guy takes a GPS yardage for each shot and like two minutes before he's ready but then hits it fat 90% time so the ball doesn't go anywhere.
The two others were guys in their 60s barely able to bend over to put the tee peg in the ground. One guy was very inconsistent, hitting the ground the before the ball on with his driver multiple times. I understand people want to get out and play but this course is too challenging for the guys I was paired with. Play something more suited to your ability.
One of the older guys was complimenting bad shots all day shouting things aloud. That's really annoying and stupid. I'm all for giving props on a good shot. Know the difference. And remember sometimes just being quiet is O...K.
All three would never mark their putts so the hole would end up surrounded as they got closer. God forbid you had a long putt to lag.
Adding to the pace of play epidemic that is golf in the US, we ended up a whole par 5 behind for the last 6 holes (one short par 4 took us 25 minutes to play).
One long par 5 was cart path only. No mention of this by the pro shop staff. A little heads up would be appreciated.
Not a fun day at all. Definitely not worth the money.

back again maybe

Course conditions were good for this time of year; a couple of more months and it will definitely be at it's peak. Love the speed of the greens. Hats off to superintendent.
Price was right. Booked online. Speedy check in. Would be nice if you including practice balls in pricing. Pretty standard at most premium courses in Denver metro.
The only bad thing I experienced was the length of time waiting to get beverages and food at the turn. The bartender seemed more interested in chatting with the guys already finished with their rounds. She definitely needed some help, especially considering the marshall was getting on our case before we walked in. The group in front of us waited for well over 15 min and they ordered from the cart ahead of time! That's an improvement that needs immediate attention. Weekends during prime hours need to have two ladies working the bar and one working the tables at least.
Room for improvement but overall had fun and shot well.

first timer trying new course

I really enjoyed the layout and the variety of holes. The pace of play was pretty bad though. I could definitely see evidence of the epidemic of slow play that has hit the US in my group. We were not playing ready golf. I had guys waiting on me to chip or pitch from 15 feet when they had 50+ foot putt and I would say "please go ahead if you're ready". One member in my foursome waited on a 225+ yard shot into a par 5. After watching him for 8 holes I can tell you for certain that he would need a once in a lifetime shot to get it close to the green. But he insisted on waiting saying "hey, it could happen". I'm a big believer in playing the percentages but I guess I'm the minority. And I didn't see one course marshal all day. Disappointing. For the money I expected better pace of play.

Good first time playing Deer Creek

Really enjoyed the scenery. The fairways and greens were in decent shape for this time of year. Pace of play was GREAT for a weekend municipal in Denver!
