East Mountain Country Club
Played On 06/16/2023Pleasantly surprised
A golfing buddy and I played easy mountain for the first time in several years, and we were pleasantly surprised with the course and conditions. The The fairways were a little brown and dried out but the greens were rolling at a medium pace,. We were fortunate to catch a window playing for about 1030 to 2 o’clock, with no one in front of us, or in back of us for the front nine. The attendant in the pro shop let us out a little early and a threesome jumped in front of us at the turn but we finished in 3.5 hours. We could see her getting a little busy in the afternoon, but the course, while still a quasi-muni, exceeded our expectations, and we will probably play it again sometime this year.
The Brookside Club
Played On 06/07/2023Great day at Brookside!
Brookside is as advertised, a public course with a private course feel. My golfing buddy and I had a great round, teeing off in the afternoon, and had a leisurely round with no one in front of us, or behind us. The greens were in good shape, but after a heavy rain the day before, they had grown a little and we’re not as fast as the practice greens. That said, the putts did not break as much as we I thought they would. The course is challenging and fair, and is well kept. Signature hole is the 10th, a par five that sits at the highest point of the course. Electric carts, and a great layout made for an enjoyable afternoon. We paid about $55 with a GolfNow coupon and we both agreed it was a good deal. Will definitely return to play it again.

Course was in good condition despite the moderate drought in Western Mass. Surprisingly, The greens are in great condition. Definitely will return.
Shattuck, The
Played On 07/16/2018Never Disappoints!
The Shattuck is one of the most unique, picturesque and challenging courses you will ever play and i try to play it 1-2 times a year (more if i lived closer). Carved out of the woods in one of the most incredible settings - it is a thinking man's course where you do not hit driver on every hole. Over all, the course is in good shape. The greens were in good condition, but because of the 95+ heat, they were allowed to grow (and were a little slow), but they should be in fantastic condition for the rest of the summer. One suggestion: bring a range finder or GPS watch. Highly recommended for the serious golfer!
