Coral Creek Golf Course
Played On 07/29/2018Lack of Course Management
Coral Creek is overplayed and not maintained. The areas around the tee boxes and greens are dirt as the golf carts are allowed to travel anywhere they want on this course. There are no signs to keep carts off the areas where it is already dirt and the damage is permanent. The lack of a good green keepers keeps the course conditions in the poor range. There are no course marshals so any golfer can do as they like and ignore all the basic golf etiquette rules. They do not fix ball/divot marks on the greens, no one rakes the sand after hitting a bunker shot and the carts basically drive up next to the greens. We played on a hot day and the first time we saw the beverage cart was on the 18th Green and she had the nerve to ask if we wanted anything, really? The restaurant at the club house is also fair but the wait for food is about 30 minute’s average. They must have only one cook in a very small kitchen, best bet is to eat elsewhere after your round of golf.
Naval Air Station Barbers Point Golf Course
Played On 07/14/2018Course is overplayed and shows it
Barbers Point is a US Navy golf facility so it gets a lot of play. Normal round is about 5 hours on a good day, during the weekend it is about 5 ½ hours. The course is overplayed so the conditions reflect the damage being done to the course. Lots of dirt and mud when it rains due to the dead zones with zero grass on the fairways. Greens are very slow because they do not have the right equipment to mow the greens to a good level. The military budget for golf course management is non-existent so the course will always suffer from lack of investment. The restaurant in the club house is closed more often than it is opened, if you play here do not expect to get anything to drink or eat after your round. Many players just to a tail gate event after the round.
Kapolei Golf Club

Not often I perceived prejudice except at this golf course. As a Caucasian I am not in the select consumer group for this facility. The course itself is well maintain but obviously overplayed as the rest of Oahu courses. This course caters strictly to visiting tourists. Being a local and not the right skin color it is very obvious the prejudice against us. The point was driven home when we tried to eat lunch after the round only to be told we needed a reservation. The place was half empty but we were not able to be seated or even considered to be “allowed” to eat in the restaurant. Doubt I will ever go back to this facility just bad management and very poor judgement of the employees.
Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course
Played On 02/11/2018Greens are dying - Feb 18
This was the 4th time I played the course at USMC Kaneohe. The staff is not friendly at all but expect no less at any military course, customer service is not a goal. The greens have been dying for many months but now several are dead and one of the par 3’s, #4 is now a temporary green in front of the dead green. Several more greens are basically sand and dirt and only certain parts of the green are usable. Not sure if this is a fungus or fertilizer treatment issue. Sad to see this happen to a great layout. No information is available on their web site or at the course on the problem area or possible solutions for this dilemma.
Kapolei Golf Club
Played On 01/28/2018Tricky pin placements
Great golf course. Pro shop,is geared toward Japanese visitors and size of golf shirts are not much more than large. Restaurant has an excellent menu and everything we tried was awesome. The course set-up was really tough for a Sunday round. We thought that the guy making the pin location decision had a hangover. Very tough pin placements even for a 3rd putt. Course is in Awesome shape and will play here many more times with no hope to putt well.
Compass Pointe Golf Club - North/East Course
Played On 08/16/2014Let golfers know
The pro shop told us, after we had already paid, that the greens had been aerated. Normally I would not pick a course with these conditions but that information was not available through the tee time web site, or the Compass Pointe web site. Golfers should also be offered a discount when they find out the conditions only after paying. I prefer to avoid courses that have aerate because putting is just not fun or reasonable. I do not understand why a course would not let golfers know the conditions. It felt like a bait and switch.
Lake Presidential Golf Club
Played On 02/24/2013Good for February
Course has weathered the winter months very well. Club house staff was friendly. We had lunch and bartender/wait staff were excellent. Club sandwich and onion rings is the way to go for lunch! Golf Cart has new GPS sytem, not worth the extra money when it is cart path only, not sure why the course is still using these with all the handheld devices.
